「未·未来」全球教育计划是一场对未来艺术设计教育的实验性探索,将秉持跨领域、跨时空、跨文化原则,集成全球学术智慧,联合全球院校与社会各界的领袖学者、科技实验者、未来预测者、设计研究者、社会学者、商界精英等,打造一个专家汇集、智慧碰撞、多元发声、合作共赢的全球「未·未来」平台。
“在实践中进行文化创造,在历史进步中实现文化进步”,中央美术学院作为“双一流”建设的艺术院校,为贯彻落实国家提出的文化发展战略,担负起新时代的文化使命,在迎接建校百年之际,将于2017年12月至2018年9月期间,启动「未·未来」全球教育计划。
「未·未来」全球教育计划将倡导发起“全球教育共同体”,以“问题导向、课题实践与教育战略”为步骤,集合全球资源,搭建面向全球的创新艺术设计教育平台。
不忘初心,以艺为新
科技革新逐步加剧了社会分工的改变,文化、经济在与其联动发展的催化中,助推着社会多维度的进程,人类不同文化体系下的多样意识形态,正以前所未有的频速交叠、碰撞、糅合。与此同时,随着生物科技、人工智能、大数据等新媒体科技的强势来袭,艺术与技术也正如人脑与AI的博弈一般,在强化干预中催生与激发着彼此的发展历程。
如何探寻未来教育的新方向、新方法和新方案;
如何建构未来教育的新学术、新艺术与新技术;
如何酝酿未来教育的新常识、新知识和新智慧;
这是「未·未来」全球教育计划希望探究的创新命题。
「未・未来」以影响时代的事件为启始,我们将重新审视当下社会语境中的艺术与设计,通过「激活创新」、「青年之为」和「教育不在」三个阶段,持续性的主题分享、圆桌对话、教育实践、校长论坛等活动形式,深度探讨与拓展未来教育议题,重新定义未来艺术设计教育模式,延伸传统教育边界,从而促进中国未来艺术设计教育全新模式的构建,推动全球艺术设计教育可持续发展。
通过网络平台,以影响时代的教育话题为主题,面向全球征集100 个与当下教育动态相关的热点问题,为圆桌对话嘉宾提供现场讨论话题,「激活创新」现场与全球艺术设计院校连线,对未来提出洞察、预知与研判,积极提出应对世界结构变革的新观点,激发创新新生动能。
作为「激活创新」圆桌对话的延伸,将「激活创新」圆桌对话的文献与演讲者探索未来的研究方法;设计在未来社会中的价值研究与探索;全球院校教育创新改革案例;未来设计、生物艺术设计、科技设计及技术伦理主题作品和中央美术学院设计学院教改演进过程等在「激活创新」圆桌对话现场动态展示。
中央美术学院将邀请在「激活创新」中提出相关问题的院校,进行深入研究合作,以教育者与被教育者的研究工作坊为发声主体,通过为期六个月的教育实践,教学过程与阶段性成果将以文献形式呈现。
教育实践于中央美院“毕业季”期间展出,汇集全球各合作院校研究工作坊的教学过程与阶段性成果,以展览为媒介形成对话与研讨的模式,对未来教育的发展提供持续研讨参考,形成“全球大学生青年创新平台”。
以教育领导者和策略制定者为主体,在中央美术学院百年校庆庆典期间,邀请全球百位校长对「青年之为」教学实践及教育改革与战略的设计进行研讨。论坛期间将搭建战略性的“全球艺术设计教育联盟”,聚合全球教育发声的“领导力”,建构全球艺术教育的新模式,推动全球艺术设计教育可持续发展。

FUTURE UNKNOWN Global Education Plan is an experimental exploration for future art and design education by a joint force of global institutions. Embracing the principle of cross-discipline, cross-time-space and cross-culture, it aims at pooling together global academic intelligence, gather global institutions and leading scholars, technical experimenters, futurists, design researchers, sociologists and business elites to forge a collaborative and double-win global Future Unknown platform , where experts gather, intelligence collides and multi-voices are made.
“Making cultural creations in practice and making cultural progress in historical progress.” As a double-first-rate art academy, CAFA initiates the Future Unknown Global Education Plan from December 2017 to September 2018, on the occasion of its centennial anniversary and in an effort to implement the national cultural development strategy and shoulder its cultural mission in the new age.
Taking the steps of problem orientation, project planning and education strategy, the Future Unknown Global Education Plan will initiate a cross-disciplinary, cross-time-space and cross-cultural “Global Education Community”, to muster global resources and build a global innovative art and design education platform.

Technical evolution is aggravating the changes in the division of labor. With collateral development in culture and economy, diversified social proceedings are being expedited. Ideologies under different cultural systems are overlapping, colliding and blending in an unprecedented speed. At the same time, with the compelling tides of new media technology such as biotechnology, AI and big data, art and technology are, just like the gaming between human brain and AI, breeding and stimulating the course of each other in intensified interventions.
How to explore new directions, new methods and new proposals for future education;
How to construct new academics, new art and new technology in future education;
How to brew new commonsense, new knowledge and new wisdom in future education;
These are the creative propositions Future Unknown Global Education Plan desires to probe.
Future Unknown Global Education Plan
Starting with events impacting the contemporary time, FUTURE UNKNOWN will re-examine art and design in the contemporary context. Through the three consecutive stages of Compulsive Innovation, Youth Expressed and Education Absence, and with continuing events such thematic sharing, roundtable discussion, education practice and chancellor summit , it looks forward to in-depth discussing and expanding the topics of future education, redesigning the modes of future art and design education and expanding the boundary of traditional education, in an effort to facilitate the construction of the new modes of future art and design education in China and to push forward the sustainable development of global art and design education.
Future Unknown Global Education Plan will be carried out in three consecutive stages, and they are: Compulsive Innovation, Youth Expressed and Education Absence
Compulsive Innovation– Round Table
December 3 2017 - December 4 2017
100 hot issues relevant to education today will be collected globally through an open call on an Internet platform, which will serve as discussion topics for the Round Table guests. The Compulsive Innovation discussion will be interacting with international art and design institutions, and is expected to provide insights, predictions and judgments, actively propose new ideas responsive to world structural transformation, and to generate new momentum for innovation .
As extension of the Round Table, documents of the Round Table discussion and the research methods the guests have applied to probe the future will be displayed in the Compulsive Innovation exhibition on the spot and in a dynamic way, along with researches and explorations on the value of design in the future society, case studies of education innovation and reform from institutions around the globe, projects exploring future design, bio art and design, tech design and technology ethics, as well as the education reform undergoing at CAFA School of Design.
Youth Expressed–Education Exhibition & Forum
December 2017–May 2018
CAFA will invite institutions that have raised relevant questions in Compulsive Innovation to carry out in-depth research collaborations. Through a six-month education practice, the research workshops of educators and the educated will make a voice by way of a documentary presentation of their teaching process and achievements.
The teaching practice presentation is scheduled during the Graduation Season of CAFA, which will serve as a medium to form patterns of dialogue and discussion, provide continued references for discussions for future education development, and shape a Global Innovation Platform of University Students and Youth.
Education Absence–Chancellor Summit
September 2018
On the occasion of the Centennial Celebration of CAFA and centered on education leaders and strategy makers, a hundred chancellors/directors/presidents from around the world will be invited to CAFA for an examination of the Youth Expressed teaching practice and a discussion on the design of future education restructuring and strategy. During the forum, a strategic Global Art and Design Education League will be set up to aggregate leaderships making voices in global education, construct new modes of global art education and push forward the sustainable development of global art and design education.
A first-rate discipline of the Ministry of Education, CAFA School of Design shoulders the responsibility of leading the reform of Chinese art and design education. Inheriting disciplinary traditions, it takes a path of new education reform and has formed five core teaching registers: strategic design, tech design, thinking design, industry design and design theory.
With FUTURE UNKNOWN, CAFA seeks to integrate global academic and educational resources in art, design, science and technology and works with them to forge a culturally inclusive and sustainable global art and design education community, which aims at, based on predictions on future social patterns and economic modes, and in an active response to world structural transformation, nurturing future-oriented talents with global vision, creativity, social responsibility and independent cultural standing.
China today is concerned with the bigger scene of human development, and proposes the global education community to pool together global resources to meet the challenges of the future. Initiated by CAFA, the Future Unknown Global Education Plan, which will serve as a pioneer and practitioner in future art and design education in China, will be started soon. From December 3rd to 4th, influential contemporary thinkers with gather at CAFA and have online interaction and discussion with the world in Compulsive Innovation - Round Table Discussion, to explore new propositions and plan for a new future.
