The publication is an eponymously titled catalog of the exhibition “Diamond Leaves: Brilliant Artist Books from around the World”. This exhibition consists of two parts: theme exhibition and notes exhibition. For theme exhibition, representative and illustrative artist books created between 1913 and 2012 from across the world are put on display. Notes exhibition is composed of three parts, including “Ancient Chinese Book Culture”, “Traditional European Book Culture” and “Dreamland Bookstore”, moving a Zines-style bookstore from the West to CAFAM. As a category of art and a platform for the experiment, these artist books find their way to the audience through this exhibition and continue to play a role in the development of global visual art. This catalog documents all artist books put on display in this exhibition, two monographs—Root of Thingsby Marshall Webber and Express Feelings via Things: Implications and Intentions of Modern Artist Books by Mark Dimunation—and relevant articles about the exhibition.
