The CAFA Art Museum was among the firsts to be listed as Key National Museum by the Ministry of Culture. In 2008, the museum moved to Huajiadi with a new building designed by the noted Japanese architect Arata Isozaki. Comprised of three sections of freely curved planes covered with grey granite, the new building stands as a novel landmark. Inside the building, we have exhibition halls designed to serve well both the traditional art and the contemporary art. The comfortable spaces and the organic use of both natural and artificial lights provide artists with various and innovative ways of presenting their works. The museum covers a total of 14,777 square meters, which includes five specialized exhibition halls, an atrium, an auditorium, a multi-functional conference room, and a café. In addition to providing professional support for exhibitions, the museum actively seeks partnership with commercial brands due to the increasing intersections between art and other disciplines like humanities, science, fashion, and society. In the past, the CAFA Art Museum has collaborated with numerous international brands, and have received nice reviews, especially on our museum’s artistic atmosphere and distinctive architecture. In the future, we look forward to bringing art and commercial brands closer together in a constructive way. For more information, please contact us at sun_wei@cafa.edu.cn or +86 10 64771687.
