Lyon's Green Mountain Meets Beijing's New Look
From Young French & Chinese Art
Lyon is a beautiful cultural city in France, which is surrounded by mountains. The Rhone and Saône rivers pass through the city. There have been many artists and authors who once lived and made creations here since the Renaissance, such as Rabelais’s Gargantua and Pantagruel. Beijing is a historic city with thousands of years of history. Nowadays, it is developing and changing with each passing day. When works by youth artists from France and China exhibited in CAFA Art Museum, space-time gap is replaced by artistic integration. These youth started a new era of communication in the new century. Just as one hundred years ago, young Chinese students went to France to study art. Today, the one-way learning has turned into mutual exchanges and appreciation. Young people from France and China are discovering the cultural charm that is in harmony with each other and seeking new perceptions and new trends that transcend time and space. Although the scale of Rendezvous exhibition is not large, it can reveal different trends are happening in the two countries, showing the new characteristics of China and France, which are diversified, fresh, exploring, daring to challenge, and forward-looking. "Rendez-Vous" is also a highly imaginative and symbolic word. It represents not only a dating of different cultures, but also a dating of different times, and different minds. It is also a dating of the young generation and the future. “Rendez” stands for the artistic value of practice and hard work. We meet with art to create new propositions, to accept the challenges of the 21st century. The innocence of the heart, the presence of the world, and the value of art will long live.
