2016年3月4日下午,“至爱之塑——雕塑家王临乙、王合内夫妇作品文献纪念展”在中央美术学院美术馆开幕,继去年末同名展览在中国美术馆获得热烈反响之后,在美院师生与社会公众的期待下,这批文献及作品终于以新的面貌返校重新展出。
作为美术教育工作者,王临乙王合内夫妇二人毕生都奉献在中央美术学院,生前又立愿将全部生平遗物和作品捐赠于学院。十年来,这批作品跟随中央美术学院辗转至花家地新址。此次,二位先生留下的作品、文献首次在中央美术学院公开展示,“回家”的意义不仅仅是对于这番用心良苦的展览,中央美术学院作为“家”的温暖更是两位先生生前身后之所牵念。
同时,此次回到中央美术学院美术馆展出,将以全新的视觉设计和展示效果,补充更为丰富的文献、教学资料和雕塑作品,使学院师生和社会公众能够更为深切地感受到美院精神和美院传统。
范迪安院长致辞
中央美术学院院长范迪安在致辞中对王临乙、王合内二位先生对中国雕塑及美术教育事业所做出的贡献表示敬意,同时也希望通过这次展览能够启发并引导现在的美院人对前辈所开拓事业进行深入研究。“不仅应当记得他们的音容笑貌,更要从他们的艺术创作中思考探索中国美术应该坚持的正确方向”,在感受二位先生的艺术情怀的同时,更要继承前辈的艺术精神。同时,他也代表学院感谢常沙娜、盛扬、曹春生等老一辈先生的支持,两位策展人曹庆晖、王伟和美术馆工作团队对文献、作品的整理研究以及中国美术馆对此次展览的支持合作。

中国美术馆馆长吴为山表示,二位先生虽然身后没有子嗣,但我们都是二位先生的后人,是前辈艺术的传承者。他同时认为,这次展览的成功举办,充分体现了中央美术学院继承传统、传播传统、创造新文化的“大学精神”。

“今天这个展览除了是‘至爱之塑’以外,还是至爱的人生。”再次看到熟悉的作品以及“王爸爸”和“合内”(常沙娜先生对二位的称呼)生活中的情景,王临乙王合内先生的义女常沙娜深情地回忆起半个多世纪前与吴作人、吕斯百以及父亲常书鸿等先生们共同经历的岁月,她希望父辈们不畏艰难坚持艺术创作的精神能在青年一代中得到传承。

王临乙王合内的学生、雕塑家盛扬先生感慨中央美术学院从王府井时代到花家地的变化,而最近几年中央美术学院连续举办的一系列老先生回顾展在不断找回美院历史中曾有的气息,这令他深刻体会到校园虽然是新的,但这里就是母校。他强调,在学院中,不仅要成为好的艺术家,更要担当好作为美术教育家的角色,而王临乙王合内二位先生则无疑是美院教学传统的典范。

中央美术学院雕塑系主任吕品昌深切缅怀了王临乙、王合内夫妇为代表的老一辈艺术家,在临近清明之时,他认为此次展览既是中央美术学院对历史的尊重、梳理,也是对其背后一个时代的中国美术及艺术家的重新认识。

在开幕前的新闻发布会上,中央美术学院党委副书记王少军表示,此次展览是美院敬重先生、注重传承的优良传统的延续。中央美术学院美术馆馆长王璜生介绍了美术馆对王临乙、王合内夫妇捐赠藏品的整理研究及保存情况,希望在中央美院美术馆这样一个极具人文关怀的空间内再次完善对二位先生艺术探索的系统展现。中国美术馆副馆长安远远女士希望通过此次展览传递中西文化相融合的精彩成果,使观众看到人类文明对感情的记录。策展人曹庆晖与王伟也分别介绍了展览策划的始终以及作为策展人对展览背后所承载文化意义的思考。

展览以王临乙、王合内夫妇二人的艺术创作以及相濡以沫的动人感情为线索,分为“身影”和“造像”两个板块。在“身影”板块中,通过各类照片、文献、作品,呈现了王临乙王合内20世纪50年代以前二人的生活经历,以及二人相识相爱的过程。“造像”部分则集中呈现了20世纪50年代后王临乙、王合内的雕塑创作。除了展现“中国气派”的纪念性雕塑之外,王临乙的肖像创作也是质朴而真实的“人民颂歌”。王合内十分喜爱小动物,她的动物雕塑成为其雕塑艺术的一大特色,集中展现在“爱的世界”板块。同时,王合内所创作的人物形象充分刻画出中国人的气质,这是她怀揣着对中国这片土地发自肺腑的热爱而竭力融入其中的成果。
此展为中央美术学院艺术名家百年诞辰纪念活动的重要组成部分,中央美术学院美术馆也将陆续展出一系列回顾性展览。“至爱之塑——雕塑家王临乙王合内夫妇作品文献纪念展”将展至4月3日。

I fully agree to CAFA Art Museum (CAFAM) submitting to CAFA for publication the images, pictures, texts, writings, and event products (such as works created during participation in workshops) related to me from my participation in public events (including museum member events) organized by the CAFA Art Museum Public Education Department. CAFA can publish these materials by electronic, web, or other digital means, and I hereby agree to be included in the China Knowledge Resource Bank, the CAFA Database, the CAFA Art Museum Database, and related data, documentation, and filing institutions and platforms. Regarding their use in CAFA and dissemination on the internet, I agree to make use of these rights according to the stated Rules.

This event was organized on the principles of fairness, impartiality, and voluntary participation and withdrawal. Participants undertake all risk and liability for themselves. All events have risks, and participants must be aware of the risks related to their chosen event.

Event participants must abide by the laws and regulations of the People’s Republic of China, as well as moral and ethical norms. All participants must demonstrate good character, respect for others, friendship, and a willingness to help others.

The museum does not undertake civil or joint liability for the personal safety of event participants.

During the event, event participants should respect the order of the museum event and ensure the safety of the museum site, the artworks in displays, exhibitions, and collections, and the derived products. If an event causes any degree of loss or damage to the museum site, space, artworks, or derived products due to an individual, persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for losses. The event participant must negotiate and provide compensation according to the relevant legal statutes and museum rules. The museum may sue for legal and financial liability.
Article VI
Event participants will participate in the event under the guidance of museum staff and event leaders or instructors and must correctly use the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities provided for the event. If a participant causes injury or harm to him/herself or others while using the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, or causes the damage or destruction of the tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, the event participant must undertake all related liability and provide compensation for the financial losses. Persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for personal accidents.
CAFA Art Museum Portraiture Rights Licensing Agreement
According to The Advertising Law of the People’s Republic of China, The General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and The Provisional Opinions of the Supreme People’s Court on Some Issues Related to the Full Implementation of the General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and upon friendly negotiation, Party A and Party B have arrived at the following agreement regarding the use of works bearing Party A’s image in order to clarify the rights and obligations of the portrait licenser (Party A) and the user (Party B):
I. General Provisions
(1) Party A is the portraiture rights holder in this agreement. Party A voluntarily licenses its portraiture rights to Party B for the purposes stipulated in this agreement and permitted by law.
(2) Party B (CAFA Art Museum) is a specialized, international modern art museum. CAFA Art Museum keeps pace with the times, and works to create an open, free, and academic space and atmosphere for positive interaction with groups, corporations, institutions, artists, and visitors. With CAFA’s academic research as a foundation, the museum plans multi-disciplinary exhibitions, conferences, and public education events with participants from around the world, providing a platform for exchange, learning, and exhibition for CAFA’s students and instructors, artists from around the world, and the general public. As a public institution, the primary purposes of CAFA Art Museum’s public education events are academic and beneficial to society.
(3) Party B will photograph all CAFA Public Education Department events for Party A.
II. Content, Forms of Use, and Geographical Scope of Use
(1) Content. The content of images taken by Party B bearing Party A’s likeness include: ① CAFA Art Museum ② CAFA campus ③ All events planned or executed by the CAFAM Public Education Department.
(2) Forms of Use. For use in CAFA’s publications, products with CDs, and promotional materials.
(3) Geographical Scope of Use
The applicable geographic scope is global.
The media in which the portraiture may be used encompasses any media that does not infringe upon Party A’s portraiture rights (e.g., magazines and the internet).
III. Term of Portraiture Rights Use
Use in perpetuity.
IV. Licensing Fees
The fees for images bearing Party A’s likeness will be undertaken by Party B.
After completion, Party B does not need to pay any fees to Party A for images bearing Party A’s likeness.
Additional Terms
(1) All matters not discussed in this agreement shall be resolved through friendly negotiation between both parties. Both parties may then sign a supplementary agreement, provided it does not violate any laws or regulations.
(2) This agreement comes into effect on the date that it is signed (sealed) and the relevant boxes are selected by Party A and Party B.
(3) This agreement exists in paper and electronic forms. The paper form is made in duplicate, with Party A and Party B each retaining one copy with the same legal efficacy.
Event participants implicitly accept and undertake all the obligations stated in this agreement. Those who do not consent will be seen as abandoning the right to participate in this event. Before participating in this event, please speak to your family members to obtain their consent and inform them of this disclaimer. After participants sign/check the required box, participants and their families will be seen as having read and agreed to these terms.
