CAFAM“项目空间”打造“青年策展实验室”



6月24日下午,中央美术学院美术馆“项目空间·青年策展实验室”2016-2017年度项目在美术馆会议室召开了启动前的新闻发布会,该项目由中央美术学院美术馆与吴作人国际美术基金会青年策展人专项基金共同发起。中央美术学院美术馆馆长、“项目空间”总策划王璜生,吴作人国际美术基金会青年策展人专项基金执行长、“项目空间”总策划余丁,中央美术学院美术馆学术部主任、“项目空间”学术主持王春辰,“项目空间” 2016年7月展览策展人魏颖,项目空间 2017 年 3 月展览策展团队某集体出席发言,中央美术学院美术馆2016年“项目空间”执行人刘希言主持新闻发布会。

“项目空间”的由来与发展

项目空间位于美术馆二层半的展厅,由三个连续分布的展示空间构成,总面积约85平方米。“项目空间”展览计划创立于2009年10月,最初以为中央美术学院所培养的青年策展人提供实践平台为初衷,随着项目的发展以及2012年吴作人国际美术基金青年策展人专项基金的介入支持,该项目的征集开始面向全国,将培育优秀青年策展人,推动、扶持青年策展人具有国际视野的策展实践作为目标。迄今,项目空间共推出近20个项目,参与过项目空间的部分青年策展人和艺术家如王郁洋、陈旷地、王健、郭希、段少锋、苏典娜等,现在已经活跃在当代艺术策展与艺术评论届中。


吴作人国际美术基金会青年策展人专项基金执行长、“项目空间”总策划余丁

吴作人国际美术基金会青年策展人专项基金成立于2012年7月15日,宗旨为致力于支持和培养具有国际视野和专业素质的青年策展人。该专项基金执行长、“项目空间”总策划、中央美术学院教授余丁介绍了基金会所支持的包括“项目空间”在内的多个项目并重点回顾了以往“项目空间”所做的展览。

2016年以来,项目空间积极寻找一些与国际前沿策展实践接轨的新可能,以及与青年策展人合作的新方式,计划将项目空间打造成一个“青年策展实验室”。

王璜生馆长介绍,从去年开始,中央美术学院美术馆开始考虑重新规划“项目空间”,扩大它的影响力,最大程度地发挥这个极具挑战性的空间的能量。近年来,各地关于扶持青年策展人的计划形成了一定的社会影响,中央美术学院美术馆在此背景下希望重点发展一些目前在国际国内策展上崭露头角的优秀青年策展人。

因此,中央美术学院美术馆计划以年度为单位,由项目空间组委会拟定主题方向,邀请国内外活跃的青年策展人参与,根据各自不同的研究领域在大主题下策划展览。本年度针对“开放的学科”邀请了六位在跨学科领域有前卫实践的青年策展人参与,在项目空间这个“实验室”里进行他们的大胆实验。“项目空间·青年策展实验室”强调主题性与实验性,是回应新的艺术环境和青年策展人状况的全新举措,也是“项目空间”核心理念的延续与拓展。


“项目空间·青年策展实验室”2016-2017年度邀请的策展人及策展团队为魏颖、李晟曌、巢佳幸、石冠哲、某集体、刘畑/开放问题研究所,而他们所策划的展览将呈现生物学、医学、声音艺术、新媒体、数学、物理等与艺术的跨界实验。

 中国策展人及策展环境的现状


美术学院美术馆学术部主任、“项目空间”学术主持王春辰

美术馆学术部主任王春辰在发布会上就目前中国策展人和策展环境的现状给予分析。尽管越来越多的讨论围绕取消策展来展开,但这并不代表策展变得不重要。他认为,国内策展的专业化发展呈现出不均衡的态势,很重要一个原因在于以美术馆为主的艺术机构通常并没有完善的策展人岗位机制。而对于今天的策展人,特别是青年策展人来说,需要更多不限于艺术范畴内的综合能力和实验意识,能更深层次地把握社会与当代艺术变化之间的关系。


首个展览"当形式不成为态度"将于7月2日开幕


青年策展人魏颖

本年度“项目空间·青年策展实验室”将在7月2号揭开首个展览的幕布,这次展览的策展人魏颖介绍了以“当形式不成为态度:生物学与当代艺术的相遇”为题的展览思路和作品背景。展览选取了两组以分子生物学作为题材的抽象艺术作品,它们有着与艺术史上经典抽象作品相同的形式,却代表了“后分子”时代艺术家切入创作的全新视角。

另外发言的是策展团队“某集体”的代表、中央美术学院设计学院副教授费俊,“某集体”将以创意集合体的方式来参与策展,以“机治”为题,展览的项目探讨物与物之间的关系,依靠物之间的关系运行算法,形成一个闭环结构,尝试让机器、机械进行自我觉醒与自我治理。

 “项目空间·青年策展实验室” 2016-2017年度邀请策展人/团队介绍

魏颖
复旦大学分子生物学硕士。近期研究方向之一为生物艺术。其研究内容包括:生物艺术史的脉络,以及科学史、社会史与生物艺术的关系;国内外生物艺术家、生物艺术研究机构个案研究和访谈;科学实验室与艺术家间的合作。2011-2014年参与上海余德耀美术馆的筹备工作,并协助主策展人巫鸿策划开馆群展《天人之际》;2015年参与纽约古根海姆美术馆中国相关项目的研究工作。近年,魏颖为《艺术世界》,《艺术新闻》等专业媒体撰稿,并为《YISHU》、《LEAP》等艺术杂志进行翻译工作。

李晟曌
中国美术学院当代艺术与社会思想研究所硕士。近期研究方向为,关于“反建制”和日常生活的可能性实践。李晟曌从2010年开始参与策划了众多学术性展览。2015年,兼任杭州清影艺术空间艺术总监,期间策划“从混沌开始”、“寻影者”、“畜牲”、“穹顶之下”、“国王的巡游”、“非常火锅—艺术家驻地计划”以及“On Air”等艺术项目与展览;负责空间年刊的主编工作。2014年,展览方案“大地备忘录”获上海当代艺术博物馆首届青年策展人计划优胜奖。2013年,任法国巴黎国际艺术城《纤维之缘·万曼与宋怀桂》艺术回顾展学术主持;中国美术馆“85与一所艺术学府”展览项目负责。李晟曌的文章多次发表在艺术杂志和期刊上,2010年获Artforum艺术论坛批评奖写作二等奖。

巢佳幸
上海大学美术学院文学硕士。策展研究偏向实践,主要方向为参与性艺术创作、跨领域实验、哲学理论与艺术实践的跨界探讨等。2011年-2015年,于复旦上海视觉艺术学院,视界艺术中心 V ART CENTER 担任策展人及执行总监,此间组织大量项目及展览,如“炸金花-叶甫纳个展”(2014年)、 “GIF岛-苗颖个展”(2014年)、“晕轮效应”(2012年)等。近期主要展览包括:“单性知识”(外滩三号 沪申画廊,2016年)、歌德开放空间2016项目:“行动的机构”(德国驻上海领事馆文化教育处,2016年)。并作为新世纪当代艺术基金会 New Century Art Foundation 项目策划人,及“2016 Art In the City 艺术都市主题盛会”策展人。巢佳幸还为《艺术论坛》特邀作者,并长期为《燃点杂志》、《艺术界》、《艺术世界》等杂志供稿。

石冠哲
中央美术学院艺术展览策划与研究硕士。研究方向为现当代艺术史、艺术理论。近期主要关注西方二十世纪六十年代的科技艺术、当代新媒体艺术。先后在各学术刊物发表相关研究成果数十篇。2013-2015年间,他与国内多家机构合作,策划了一系列展览。如“超级景观:图像世界的多重逻辑”(石家庄美术馆,2014),“创时纪:中央美术学院首届青年英才驻留计划”(北京今日美术馆,2015年),“堪图术:何汶玦个展”(上海新美术馆,2015),“九宫格:精确的视觉化”(上海明园美术馆,2015)等。石冠哲的专论《艺术与技术实验——E.A.T.的早期展览与比利·克鲁维的美学思想》于2014年获得中央美院优秀论文奖、《当代艺术话语问题的批判与反思》一文获得四川美术学院十三届作品年展优秀奖。

某集体于2013年由艺术家团队共同创建, 致力于文化创新与社会创新领域,并有效地将两者相结合,提供一系列解决方案;本着以用户为中心的设计方法论,某集体跨界整合众多媒体和数字平台,为用户和商业规划设计最相关,最有效的数字交互体验机制,是一个创意集合体。

某集体与故宫博物院合作,设计、制作《紫禁城祥瑞》、《韩熙载夜宴图》、《陶瓷馆》等移动应用
APP,并在故宫端门数字馆中设计《故宫数字沙盘》与《写生珍禽图》两项数字交互装置。某集体是交互北京的发起人与组织者,目前已成功举办三届;2015年北京设计周期间在白塔寺地区进行“白塔寺再生计划”。

刘畑现为中国美术学院跨媒体艺术学院当代艺术与社会思想研究所博士, 2016年上海双年展“何不再问?——正辩、反辩、故事”策展组成员,长期致力于「研究-创作」的共同推进,工作贯穿策展、作品创作、理论研究及写作。当前研究聚焦于“媒体-现实”方向。

2006
年起,作为策展人参与策划了众多学术性展览,近期包括:“灰///洋(集美·阿尔勒国际摄影节参展主题展)”(2015)、“虚空:禅意之维”(2015)、首届上海当代艺术博物馆青年策展人项目优胜项目“大地备忘录”(2014)、“偏好:汉雅一百”(2014)、“西岸2013:建筑与当代艺术双年展”(2013)、“关于某物的报告:吴山专&英格•斯瓦拉•托斯朵蒂尔”(2013)等。2009年,发起当代青年艺术-问题调查项目,至今已完成一系列展览、工作坊和出版。

“开放问题研究所(
Open Matter Institute)”是一个独立研究-创作机构,由刘畑发起成立于2010年,持续开展广义的研究、创作和策展工作,也是进行跨学科发动的开放平台,基于具体项目邀请各领域的研究、创作者共同合作。曾针对吴山专与英格、没顶公司等艺术家和机构提供过问题开放工作。进行中项目包括“近反物质材料”计划等。

If an event causes any degree of loss or damage to the museum site, space, artworks, or derived products due to an individual, persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for losses. The event participant must negotiate and provide compensation according to the relevant legal statutes and museum rules. The museum may sue for legal and financial liability.

Article VI

Event participants will participate in the event under the guidance of museum staff and event leaders or instructors and must correctly use the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities provided for the event. If a participant causes injury or harm to him/herself or others while using the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, or causes the damage or destruction of the tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, the event participant must undertake all related liability and provide compensation for the financial losses. Persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for personal accidents.

CAFA Art Museum Portraiture Rights Licensing Agreement

According to The Advertising Law of the People’s Republic of China, The General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and The Provisional Opinions of the Supreme People’s Court on Some Issues Related to the Full Implementation of the General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and upon friendly negotiation, Party A and Party B have arrived at the following agreement regarding the use of works bearing Party A’s image in order to clarify the rights and obligations of the portrait licenser (Party A) and the user (Party B):

I. General Provisions

(1) Party A is the portraiture rights holder in this agreement. Party A voluntarily licenses its portraiture rights to Party B for the purposes stipulated in this agreement and permitted by law.

(2) Party B (CAFA Art Museum) is a specialized, international modern art museum. CAFA Art Museum keeps pace with the times, and works to create an open, free, and academic space and atmosphere for positive interaction with groups, corporations, institutions, artists, and visitors. With CAFA’s academic research as a foundation, the museum plans multi-disciplinary exhibitions, conferences, and public education events with participants from around the world, providing a platform for exchange, learning, and exhibition for CAFA’s students and instructors, artists from around the world, and the general public. As a public institution, the primary purposes of CAFA Art Museum’s public education events are academic and beneficial to society.

(3) Party B will photograph all CAFA Public Education Department events for Party A.

II. Content, Forms of Use, and Geographical Scope of Use

(1) Content. The content of images taken by Party B bearing Party A’s likeness include: ① CAFA Art Museum ② CAFA campus ③ All events planned or executed by the CAFAM Public Education Department.

(2) Forms of Use. For use in CAFA’s publications, products with CDs, and promotional materials.

(3) Geographical Scope of Use

The applicable geographic scope is global.

The media in which the portraiture may be used encompasses any media that does not infringe upon Party A’s portraiture rights (e.g., magazines and the internet).

III. Term of Portraiture Rights Use

Use in perpetuity.

IV. Licensing Fees

The fees for images bearing Party A’s likeness will be undertaken by Party B.

After completion, Party B does not need to pay any fees to Party A for images bearing Party A’s likeness.

Additional Terms

(1) All matters not discussed in this agreement shall be resolved through friendly negotiation between both parties. Both parties may then sign a supplementary agreement, provided it does not violate any laws or regulations.

(2) This agreement comes into effect on the date that it is signed (sealed) and the relevant boxes are selected by Party A and Party B.

(3) This agreement exists in paper and electronic forms. The paper form is made in duplicate, with Party A and Party B each retaining one copy with the same legal efficacy.

Event participants implicitly accept and undertake all the obligations stated in this agreement. Those who do not consent will be seen as abandoning the right to participate in this event. Before participating in this event, please speak to your family members to obtain their consent and inform them of this disclaimer. After participants sign/check the required box, participants and their families will be seen as having read and agreed to these terms.

If a participant causes injury or harm to him/herself or others while using the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, or causes the damage or destruction of the tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, the event participant must undertake all related liability and provide compensation for the financial losses. Persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for personal accidents.

CAFA Art Museum Portraiture Rights Licensing Agreement

According to The Advertising Law of the People’s Republic of China, The General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and The Provisional Opinions of the Supreme People’s Court on Some Issues Related to the Full Implementation of the General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and upon friendly negotiation, Party A and Party B have arrived at the following agreement regarding the use of works bearing Party A’s image in order to clarify the rights and obligations of the portrait licenser (Party A) and the user (Party B):

I. General Provisions

(1) Party A is the portraiture rights holder in this agreement. Party A voluntarily licenses its portraiture rights to Party B for the purposes stipulated in this agreement and permitted by law.

(2) Party B (CAFA Art Museum) is a specialized, international modern art museum. CAFA Art Museum keeps pace with the times, and works to create an open, free, and academic space and atmosphere for positive interaction with groups, corporations, institutions, artists, and visitors. With CAFA’s academic research as a foundation, the museum plans multi-disciplinary exhibitions, conferences, and public education events with participants from around the world, providing a platform for exchange, learning, and exhibition for CAFA’s students and instructors, artists from around the world, and the general public. As a public institution, the primary purposes of CAFA Art Museum’s public education events are academic and beneficial to society.

(3) Party B will photograph all CAFA Public Education Department events for Party A.

II. Content, Forms of Use, and Geographical Scope of Use

(1) Content. The content of images taken by Party B bearing Party A’s likeness include: ① CAFA Art Museum ② CAFA campus ③ All events planned or executed by the CAFAM Public Education Department.

(2) Forms of Use. For use in CAFA’s publications, products with CDs, and promotional materials.

(3) Geographical Scope of Use

The applicable geographic scope is global.

The media in which the portraiture may be used encompasses any media that does not infringe upon Party A’s portraiture rights (e.g., magazines and the internet).

III. Term of Portraiture Rights Use

Use in perpetuity.

IV. Licensing Fees

The fees for images bearing Party A’s likeness will be undertaken by Party B.

After completion, Party B does not need to pay any fees to Party A for images bearing Party A’s likeness.

Additional Terms

(1) All matters not discussed in this agreement shall be resolved through friendly negotiation between both parties. Both parties may then sign a supplementary agreement, provided it does not violate any laws or regulations.

(2) This agreement comes into effect on the date that it is signed (sealed) and the relevant boxes are selected by Party A and Party B.

(3) This agreement exists in paper and electronic forms. The paper form is made in duplicate, with Party A and Party B each retaining one copy with the same legal efficacy.

Event participants implicitly accept and undertake all the obligations stated in this agreement. Those who do not consent will be seen as abandoning the right to participate in this event. Before participating in this event, please speak to your family members to obtain their consent and inform them of this disclaimer. After participants sign/check the required box, participants and their families will be seen as having read and agreed to these terms.
