“CAFA Art Museum – Langfang” was Officially Unveiled on November 3

Followed by strategic cooperation achieved by CAFA Art Museum and ENN Group, the opening ceremony of “CAFA Art Museum-Langfang” was held successfully at the Silk Road International Cultural Exchange Center. Coinciding with the centenary anniversary of CAFA, Langfang branch initiated two exhibitions upon its founding: “The Collection of CAFA Art Museum” and “The Perspectives of the World: Through Photography and Videos”, which presented the excellent collection of CAFA Art Museum in recent years so as to view and experience the vitality of Chinese art in the contemporary era.

Su Xinping, Deputy Director of CAFA, said in his speech that it was of great significance that CAFA Art Museum and the Silk Road International Cultural Exchange Center have achieved strategic cooperation and officially established “CAFA Art Museum – Langfang”. It expands the academic strategy of the CAFA and extends the academic brand of CAFA Art Museum to a greater depth. The Langfang branch is located in the Silk Road International Cultural Exchange Center and will integrate the advantages of both sides for win-win results. Under the joint efforts of both parties, it will definitely become a new landmark of Langfang’s public culture and a new highland of artistic development.

Xi Xianjun, Member of the Standing Committee, Propaganda Minister and Director of United Front Work Department of Langfang, stated that the Langfang branch is the first art museum set up by CAFA outside its college, which is not only a high recognition of the cultural and artistic atmosphere of Langfang but also a great promotion of the cultural and artistic development of Langfang. It will become a critical platform for Langfang people to appreciate the national level of fine arts, and facilitate cultural and artistic exchanges. The holding of this event and the founding of the Langfang branch will be taken as an opportunity for actively promoting the innovation and development of art and constantly enhancing the soft power of Langfang’s culture.

Li Hongjie, Senior Vice President of ENN Group and Director of the Silk Road International Cultural Exchange Center, was honored to witness the birth of the Langfang branch of CAFA Art Museum by this high level in the field of global art. He stressed that art education is the cornerstone of the development of art and tracing its origin, art educators are important promoters for human spiritual communication. The ENN Group has also invested heavily in a number of cultural and educational projects, including the Silk Road International Cultural Exchange Center. In the future, the two sides will connect with each other through art and become new drivers for building “a community of shared future for humanity”.

After ten years of development since its new building established, CAFA Art Museum has become one of the crucial national art museums enjoying a good reputation at home and abroad.It adheres to the academic concept of “embracing inclusiveness and carrying on traditional essence for the future cause” to serve the society with “Intellect” and dedicates itself to the construction of contemporary public cultural space, presenting human artistic civilization to the public with a brand-new vision and sharing the culture of the times with all sectors of society. The Langfang branch will continue the consistent academic standards of CAFA Art Museum, persist in practicing the core concept of the art museum and create a platform of artistic ecology integrating experience, profession, knowledge and culture for the public in the field of contemporary art and design. All the exhibition will be planned by the team of CAFA Art Museum and reviewed by the Academic Committee of CAFA Art Museum, so that the quality and level presented by exhibitions can be guaranteed.

CAFA Art Museum – Langfang


The Langfang branch’s location, “the Silk Road International Cultural Exchange Center” is a vital part of the section of life – the core project of the Langfang International Recreation Tourism Port of ENN Group, a famous Chinese clean energy entrepreneur, and it is consisted of theater communities, art galleries, multifunctional spaces and other related cultural facilities, making it a new generation of international cultural exchange platform of the largest and most functional in the northern area. The establishment of the Langfang branch demonstrates an innovative model of cooperation that through the intervention of art, people, culture and environment are combined together for a mutually beneficial relationship.

The exhibition site


The Langfang branch has a building area of 30,000 square meters and an exhibition area of 10,000 square meters. Having constant temperature & humidity system and professional security equipment and the ability to display first-class art treasures in China, it can meet the needs of various professional cultural and art exhibitions. At the same time, it has more than 6,000 square meters of art storehouse and 3,600 square meters of art storehouse of the vault level.

In the future, the Langfang branch will devote itself to the pursuit of cross-boundary expression between contemporary art and design, to promote the academic discussion of contemporary art creation and aesthetic design, to explore the practical path for bring art to life, and to search for the possibility of enabling Chinese contemporary art and design in line with international standards. Meanwhile, it intends to build a non-profit art museum with great artistic influence and public cultural serviceability in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region through professional art exhibitions, research, collection as well as public art education, so as to continue the art idea of CAFA Art Museum while constructing its own unique cultural image.

After the opening ceremony, participating leaders and more than 200 experts and scholars visited the parent venue of the “CAFA Art Museum – Langfang” – the ENNOVA· Silk Road International Cultural Exchange Center where the guests expressed their appreciations of its diverse, open and inclusive orientation, and believe that the advantaged location and the international operation direction will definitely become the essential driving forces of regional prosperity of culture and art.

Article I

If an event causes any degree of loss or damage to the museum site, space, artworks, or derived products due to an individual, persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for losses. The event participant must negotiate and provide compensation according to the relevant legal statutes and museum rules. The museum may sue for legal and financial liability.

Article VI

Event participants will participate in the event under the guidance of museum staff and event leaders or instructors and must correctly use the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities provided for the event. If a participant causes injury or harm to him/herself or others while using the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, or causes the damage or destruction of the tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, the event participant must undertake all related liability and provide compensation for the financial losses. Persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for personal accidents.

CAFA Art Museum Portraiture Rights Licensing Agreement

According to The Advertising Law of the People’s Republic of China, The General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and The Provisional Opinions of the Supreme People’s Court on Some Issues Related to the Full Implementation of the General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and upon friendly negotiation, Party A and Party B have arrived at the following agreement regarding the use of works bearing Party A’s image in order to clarify the rights and obligations of the portrait licenser (Party A) and the user (Party B):

I. General Provisions

(1) Party A is the portraiture rights holder in this agreement. Party A voluntarily licenses its portraiture rights to Party B for the purposes stipulated in this agreement and permitted by law.

(2) Party B (CAFA Art Museum) is a specialized, international modern art museum. CAFA Art Museum keeps pace with the times, and works to create an open, free, and academic space and atmosphere for positive interaction with groups, corporations, institutions, artists, and visitors. With CAFA’s academic research as a foundation, the museum plans multi-disciplinary exhibitions, conferences, and public education events with participants from around the world, providing a platform for exchange, learning, and exhibition for CAFA’s students and instructors, artists from around the world, and the general public. As a public institution, the primary purposes of CAFA Art Museum’s public education events are academic and beneficial to society.

(3) Party B will photograph all CAFA Public Education Department events for Party A.

II. Content, Forms of Use, and Geographical Scope of Use

(1) Content. The content of images taken by Party B bearing Party A’s likeness include: ① CAFA Art Museum ② CAFA campus ③ All events planned or executed by the CAFAM Public Education Department.

(2) Forms of Use. For use in CAFA’s publications, products with CDs, and promotional materials.

(3) Geographical Scope of Use

The applicable geographic scope is global.

The media in which the portraiture may be used encompasses any media that does not infringe upon Party A’s portraiture rights (e.g., magazines and the internet).

III. Term of Portraiture Rights Use

Use in perpetuity.

IV. Licensing Fees

The fees for images bearing Party A’s likeness will be undertaken by Party B.

After completion, Party B does not need to pay any fees to Party A for images bearing Party A’s likeness.

Additional Terms

(1) All matters not discussed in this agreement shall be resolved through friendly negotiation between both parties. Both parties may then sign a supplementary agreement, provided it does not violate any laws or regulations.

(2) This agreement comes into effect on the date that it is signed (sealed) and the relevant boxes are selected by Party A and Party B.

(3) This agreement exists in paper and electronic forms. The paper form is made in duplicate, with Party A and Party B each retaining one copy with the same legal efficacy.

Event participants implicitly accept and undertake all the obligations stated in this agreement. Those who do not consent will be seen as abandoning the right to participate in this event. Before participating in this event, please speak to your family members to obtain their consent and inform them of this disclaimer. After participants sign/check the required box, participants and their families will be seen as having read and agreed to these terms.
