Foreword
After some careful planning during the past spring, the 2020 graduation exhibition of the Institute of Arts Administration and Education meets the public. As an annual public academic event of the institute, the exhibition continues our core concept of "research exhibition". Combining with CAFA's new online exhibition style, the exhibition showcases the thinking and research of 30 master degree graduates with their dissertations.
The exhibition has two narrative dimensions: horizontal and vertical. Based on the research directions of the institute's master students, the horizontal structure is formed by five themes "arts administration study", "art education study", "art economics study", "art exhibition and curation study" and "art law and art psychology study". "Arts administration study" touches upon themes like the development of art industrial part, contemporary art and cultural rural reconstruction, art collection and contemporary overseas art promotion; "art education study" focuses on topics like advanced art education, transformation bewteen art practice and art education, museum and public art education, art education for people with special needs; the "art economics" part pays attention to the development of art education institutions and analysis of industry models; "art law and art psychology" looks into legal issues related with imitation art and art therapy; the "art exhibition and curation study" part unfolds on 5G technology, development of museology, popularization of art, and research of curators and exhibitions.
The graduates are the heroes of this exhibition. The graduation works are exhibited as individual units, with text and images displayed according to the vertical structure of "keywords" - "three questions related to the dissertation topic" - "mind map" - "content summary". The 360-degree panoramic exhibition restores the physical experience of visiting an exhibition, and the link sattached to the works allow the audience to read into the works intensively. The links are also a window that connects the graduates and the audience "face to face": through videos prepared in advance, the graduates speak for themselves their three-year academic life and their future expectations.
The five themes to some extent display the academic dimensions of the master programs at the Institute of Arts Administration and Education. Every graduate's work is exhibited in clear structure and rich visual forms. The exhibition aims to display the didactical achievements of the Institute of Arts Administration and Education, and to explore new ways of exhibiting the insititute's graduation works through the virtual CAFA museum, so as to raise the academic world and the public's awareness of arts administration and art education's disciplines.
