勿失毋忘丨 不要忘了传统,不要忘了根脉

“‘勿失毋忘’,这个小本子是滑田友先生当年的记录本,他自己特别标注‘不要丢了、不要忘了’。策展人有心用作展览的标题,这也是我们今天所要做的,不要丢了我们中央美院的传统,不要忘了我们文化的根脉。”中央美术学院院长范迪安的致辞深情表达了举办展览的初衷和对美院老一辈艺术家的致敬情怀。

北京的初冬寒意暖阳交融,11月24日,一场致敬传统、礼敬先生的“百年辉煌·中央美术学院艺术名家”系列展览——“勿失毋忘——雕塑家滑田友诞辰120周年纪念展”在中央美院美术馆温馨拉开了帷幕,美术馆的学术报告厅成了师生传承学习美院优秀传统的生动课堂。由于校园疫情防控的要求,无法让更多师生和滑田友先生的亲友来到现场,今天开幕仪式虽然简朴,但对先生的致敬深深扎根在美院人心中。

雕塑系的老先生、老教授盛杨、刘焕章、曹春生、孙家钵、田世信、郭宝寨、赵瑞英、王少军、隋建国等专程赶到开幕现场,党委书记高洪、院长范迪安、党委副书记王晓琳、副院长吕品晶等学校领导班子成员,北京荣丰投资有限公司董事长雷宇靖,学校相关部门负责人以及雕塑系师生与滑田友先生亲属一同出席了开幕式。开幕式由中央美术学院党委书记高洪主持。

中央美术学院院长、中国美术家协会主席范迪安致辞

中央美术学院院长、中国美术家协会主席范迪安在致辞中表示,“百年辉煌·中央美术学院艺术名家”的研究、展示、推广,是中央美术学院的重要项目之一,体现出学校尊重传统、尊重学术、尊重先贤的初心。范迪安表示,在20世纪中国雕塑发展史的不同历史阶段,滑田友先生都创作了具有深远影响的作品,比如他留学巴黎时期的《轰炸》《少年中国》等,代表了20世纪前半叶中国雕塑家走向世界,在吸收研究西方雕塑语言的基础上形成自己杰出的表达与表现。新中国成立后,滑田友与一大批同时代的雕塑家一起投入社会主义文化事业的新征程,以人民英雄纪念碑浮雕为代表的系列创作,成为新中国雕塑艺术乃至新中国美术的标杆,也代表着新中国雕塑艺术新的方向。从国立北平艺专到中央美术学院,滑先生在几十年的教育教学生涯中,为中央美院的雕塑教学,为雕塑系的发展壮大投入巨大心力。

范迪安谈到,今天看滑田友先生,有两点特别值得我们学习。一是滑田友先生始终抱有坚定的理想,为中国现代雕塑艺术的发展不遗余力,他有一腔对祖国对人民对艺术的赤胆忠诚,这是一种中国艺术家的胆略、勇气和正义,这股正气贯穿于他的作品中,因而赋予作品永恒的魅力。我们还要学习滑田友先生坚持以中为本,中西融合,最后达到“以中化西”的艺术研究方向,他努力探索中国雕塑既民族又现代的路子。正是因为滑田友喝了第一口中国文化乳汁,他在走向世界的时候,才永远没有忘记自己的文化乡愁。

范迪安感言,“此次举办滑田友先生的展览,不仅具备观赏性,更具备阅读性。这些珍贵文献珍藏在家中多年,第一次拿出来特别不易,为丰富20世纪中国美术史的书写提供新的史料参考。”他最后谈到,近年来中央美术学院雕塑系在学科建设与教学方面稳步发展,形成了对传统的研究、继承与当代创新有机结合的教学体系。正在展出的滑田友与司徒兆光两位雕塑名家的展览,对我们进一步夯实学术厚土,迈向新的学术高度具有十分重要的意义。

滑田友先生学生代表、中央美术学院原党委书记、老教授盛杨先生在致辞中回忆了就读本科时生动的小故事和鲜活细节,把大家带到了那个年代“滑田友老师的课堂”。盛杨先生感慨,“我们要学传统的东西,就是要学传统里头的仙气。所谓的仙气是中国人的气质、中国人的精神、中国人的气派。”滑田友先生的作品,总是让人感觉那么亲切、那么温馨,就是他把中国的东西融合进去了,而不是模仿。他说,雕塑系的老先生都致力于融合中西而各有特点,比如王临乙先生研究秦汉的雕塑,曾竹韶先生研究北魏的雕塑,滑田友先生研究唐代的雕塑,傅天仇先生研究宋代的雕塑,司徒杰先生研究明代的雕塑,等等。盛杨认为,雕塑系有着良好的学术风气,现在也要保持这种传统,每个艺术家对待中西文化的碰撞都会有所创造,而不是归成一个模式。盛杨先生动情地说,“滑先生今年120岁,我记得他逝世时快90岁了,我今年都90了,我觉得自己还是像25岁入学那样看待我的先生。我还记得他说的那些话,‘你要热爱中国的文化、中国的艺术,你应该好好努力,你要找到中国人的仙气,不要模仿’……这些话始终在鼓舞着我。”一个艺术家的价值就在于你能不能把你的所得、你的东西赋予给更多的人享受。

中央美术学院雕塑系主任张伟致辞

“我们是饱读滑先生大量作品而成长起来的一代。‘史家胡同31号’是老美院学生学习雕塑的‘圣地’,除了那一本几乎人手一册的画册之外,滑先生的作品是我们在上学时能够亲手抚摸最多的实物教具。”雕塑系主任张伟动情地回忆起就读附中时期常去滑田友先生家学习雕塑的情景。他特别谈到滑田友先生是一个既会做又会教的先生,有很多的“绝招”教给学生,他的‘六法论’将中国古代画论巧妙运用到雕塑语言上,将雕塑结构关系分析得鞭辟入里;他重视传统雕塑,在20世纪50年代进行了两次系统的中国古代雕塑考察,留下大量的资料、照片,并专门撰文进行研究分析;他创造的“贯气说”“串糖葫芦说”“铺石子路说”“编箩筐说”等教学术语传承至今,生动形象、言简意赅地总结了雕塑艺术的本质规律,给学生指出问题并解决问题,这是雕塑教学宝贵的财富。如滑先生自己所说:“我这个抽屉是开着的,等着你们来取。”在滑田友先生诞辰120周年之际,再次纪念先生、阅读先生、仰望先生,他的“绝招”,他的艺术理想值得被后辈谨记。

“这次展览来之不易,很多石膏原作、原始文献因年代久远已经十分脆弱了,我和妹妹也一直担心在运输、装箱、展览的过程中会有所损坏,孙家钵先生劝我一定要把雕塑原稿拿出来,学生看到石膏和铸铜的感受是不一样的,张伟老师也说,艺术作品是有寿命的,应该在它最旺盛的时候发挥它的作用,他们打动了我和妹妹,我们跟策展团队一起克服困难,尽最大可能展示原作。”滑田友长女滑夏代表亲属对学校精心组织策划此次展览表达了真挚的感谢。她希望通过这次展览的深度挖掘与梳理,可以让大家看到父亲那一代老艺术家的情怀,去总结和传承他们的艺术精神。

经滑田友先生家属授权,由雕塑系组织专门力量根据照片复原了滑田友先生完成于1943年著名的作品《少年中国》,复原作品首次亮相,并以此作品形象作为“滑田友雕塑艺术奖”奖杯。

纪念滑田友先生诞辰120周年展览是中央美术学院致敬传统、礼敬先贤的重要学术活动。由党委宣传部牵头,美术馆、雕塑系等单位组成专门筹备工作组,人文学院曹庆晖教授担任策展人,筹备工作历时一年多,展览团队与家属密切沟通协作,认真梳理了滑田友先生的作品与文献资料,从六个板块多角度、多层次展现了滑田友先生的艺术成就和人生经历,揭示了滑田友先生一生为之心动的六个面向,大量的手稿、田野考察所拍照片、藏书画册的首次面世,充满历史余味与时代特质,将观众代入丰富细腻的滑田友艺术世界。

If an event causes any degree of loss or damage to the museum site, space, artworks, or derived products due to an individual, persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for losses. The event participant must negotiate and provide compensation according to the relevant legal statutes and museum rules. The museum may sue for legal and financial liability.

Article VI

Event participants will participate in the event under the guidance of museum staff and event leaders or instructors and must correctly use the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities provided for the event. If a participant causes injury or harm to him/herself or others while using the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, or causes the damage or destruction of the tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, the event participant must undertake all related liability and provide compensation for the financial losses. Persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for personal accidents.

CAFA Art Museum Portraiture Rights Licensing Agreement

According to The Advertising Law of the People’s Republic of China, The General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and The Provisional Opinions of the Supreme People’s Court on Some Issues Related to the Full Implementation of the General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and upon friendly negotiation, Party A and Party B have arrived at the following agreement regarding the use of works bearing Party A’s image in order to clarify the rights and obligations of the portrait licenser (Party A) and the user (Party B):

I. General Provisions

(1) Party A is the portraiture rights holder in this agreement. Party A voluntarily licenses its portraiture rights to Party B for the purposes stipulated in this agreement and permitted by law.

(2) Party B (CAFA Art Museum) is a specialized, international modern art museum. CAFA Art Museum keeps pace with the times, and works to create an open, free, and academic space and atmosphere for positive interaction with groups, corporations, institutions, artists, and visitors. With CAFA’s academic research as a foundation, the museum plans multi-disciplinary exhibitions, conferences, and public education events with participants from around the world, providing a platform for exchange, learning, and exhibition for CAFA’s students and instructors, artists from around the world, and the general public. As a public institution, the primary purposes of CAFA Art Museum’s public education events are academic and beneficial to society.

(3) Party B will photograph all CAFA Public Education Department events for Party A.

II. Content, Forms of Use, and Geographical Scope of Use

(1) Content. The content of images taken by Party B bearing Party A’s likeness include: ① CAFA Art Museum ② CAFA campus ③ All events planned or executed by the CAFAM Public Education Department.

(2) Forms of Use. For use in CAFA’s publications, products with CDs, and promotional materials.

(3) Geographical Scope of Use

The applicable geographic scope is global.

The media in which the portraiture may be used encompasses any media that does not infringe upon Party A’s portraiture rights (e.g., magazines and the internet).

III. Term of Portraiture Rights Use

Use in perpetuity.

IV. Licensing Fees

The fees for images bearing Party A’s likeness will be undertaken by Party B.

After completion, Party B does not need to pay any fees to Party A for images bearing Party A’s likeness.

Additional Terms

(1) All matters not discussed in this agreement shall be resolved through friendly negotiation between both parties. Both parties may then sign a supplementary agreement, provided it does not violate any laws or regulations.

(2) This agreement comes into effect on the date that it is signed (sealed) and the relevant boxes are selected by Party A and Party B.

(3) This agreement exists in paper and electronic forms. The paper form is made in duplicate, with Party A and Party B each retaining one copy with the same legal efficacy.

Event participants implicitly accept and undertake all the obligations stated in this agreement. Those who do not consent will be seen as abandoning the right to participate in this event. Before participating in this event, please speak to your family members to obtain their consent and inform them of this disclaimer. After participants sign/check the required box, participants and their families will be seen as having read and agreed to these terms.

This event was organized on the principles of fairness, impartiality, and voluntary participation and withdrawal. Participants undertake all risk and liability for themselves. All events have risks, and participants must be aware of the risks related to their chosen event.

Article II

Event participants must abide by the laws and regulations of the People’s Republic of China, as well as moral and ethical norms. All participants must demonstrate good character, respect for others, friendship, and a willingness to help others.

Article III

Event participants should be adults (people 18 years or older with full civil legal capacity). Underage persons must be accompanied by an adult.

Article IV

Event participants undertake all liability for their personal safety during the event, and event participants are encouraged to purchase personal safety insurance. Should an accident occur during an event, persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for the accident, but both have the obligation to provide assistance. Event participants should actively organize and implement rescue efforts, but do not undertake any legal or economic liability for the accident itself. The museum does not undertake civil or joint liability for the personal safety of event participants.

Article V

During the event, event participants should respect the order of the museum event and ensure the safety of the museum site, the artworks in displays, exhibitions, and collections, and the derived products. If an event causes any degree of loss or damage to the museum site, space, artworks, or derived products due to an individual, persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for losses. The event participant must negotiate and provide compensation according to the relevant legal statutes and museum rules. The museum may sue for legal and financial liability.

Article VI

Event participants will participate in the event under the guidance of museum staff and event leaders or instructors and must correctly use the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities provided for the event. If a participant causes injury or harm to him/herself or others while using the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, or causes the damage or destruction of the tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, the event participant must undertake all related liability and provide compensation for the financial losses. Persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for personal accidents.

CAFA Art Museum Portraiture Rights Licensing Agreement

According to The Advertising Law of the People’s Republic of China, The General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and The Provisional Opinions of the Supreme People’s Court on Some Issues Related to the Full Implementation of the General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and upon friendly negotiation, Party A and Party B have arrived at the following agreement regarding the use of works bearing Party A’s image in order to clarify the rights and obligations of the portrait licenser (Party A) and the user (Party B):

I. General Provisions

(1) Party A is the portraiture rights holder in this agreement. Party A voluntarily licenses its portraiture rights to Party B for the purposes stipulated in this agreement and permitted by law.

(2) Party B (CAFA Art Museum) is a specialized, international modern art museum. CAFA Art Museum keeps pace with the times, and works to create an open, free, and academic space and atmosphere for positive interaction with groups, corporations, institutions, artists, and visitors. With CAFA’s academic research as a foundation, the museum plans multi-disciplinary exhibitions, conferences, and public education events with participants from around the world, providing a platform for exchange, learning, and exhibition for CAFA’s students and instructors, artists from around the world, and the general public. As a public institution, the primary purposes of CAFA Art Museum’s public education events are academic and beneficial to society.

(3) Party B will photograph all CAFA Public Education Department events for Party A.

II. Content, Forms of Use, and Geographical Scope of Use

(1) Content. The content of images taken by Party B bearing Party A’s likeness include: ① CAFA Art Museum ② CAFA campus ③ All events planned or executed by the CAFAM Public Education Department.

(2) Forms of Use. For use in CAFA’s publications, products with CDs, and promotional materials.

(3) Geographical Scope of Use

The applicable geographic scope is global.

The media in which the portraiture may be used encompasses any media that does not infringe upon Party A’s portraiture rights (e.g., magazines and the internet).

III. Term of Portraiture Rights Use

Use in perpetuity.

IV. Licensing Fees

The fees for images bearing Party A’s likeness will be undertaken by Party B.

After completion, Party B does not need to pay any fees to Party A for images bearing Party A’s likeness.

Additional Terms

(1) All matters not discussed in this agreement shall be resolved through friendly negotiation between both parties. Both parties may then sign a supplementary agreement, provided it does not violate any laws or regulations.

(2) This agreement comes into effect on the date that it is signed (sealed) and the relevant boxes are selected by Party A and Party B.

(3) This agreement exists in paper and electronic forms. The paper form is made in duplicate, with Party A and Party B each retaining one copy with the same legal efficacy.

Event participants implicitly accept and undertake all the obligations stated in this agreement. Those who do not consent will be seen as abandoning the right to participate in this event. Before participating in this event, please speak to your family members to obtain their consent and inform them of this disclaimer. After participants sign/check the required box, participants and their families will be seen as having read and agreed to these terms.
