近日,“写生新疆:20世纪以来新疆主题创作研究展”于中央美术学院美术馆2B展厅拉开帷幕。本次展览在国家艺术基金交流传播项目资助下,聚焦于20世纪以来中国几代艺术家远赴新疆写生创作的历史脉络,整理和研究“新疆”素材给近现代以来艺术创作提供了哪些创作源泉,以及由艺术观念的转向带来的绘画语言的拓展和突破。

中央美术学院美术馆馆长张子康教授在展览开幕导览中,谈及本次展览的策划时提到,中央美术学院一直与新疆有很深的渊源,新疆的很多老一辈艺术家都是由中央美术学院培养,他们在新疆美术事业推动过程中发挥了非常大的作用,这一段历史一直鲜有人去梳理,这个展览把新疆跟中央美术学院乃至中国20世纪以来艺术发展脉络结合起来,可以让观众看到中国艺术家在新疆题材创作中的思考,这些思考成就了很多艺术家,通过这个展览可以看到这段历史,看到艺术家们在这个话题之下创作的成果。

中央美术学院科研处处长于洋教授评价展览说:以“写生新疆”为主题的专题研究展在中央美术学院美术馆开幕,展览本身作为国家艺术基金资助的重要的展览项目,贯穿了“写生新疆”这样一个学术主题,在20世纪的美术发展史中有很多名家名作表现新疆的人和事,表现新疆的阳光和土地,本次展览呈现了很多在艺术史上具有典型性的新疆主题的优秀作品,给这个展览奠定了学术的高度。展览还展现了当下老中青尤其是中青年艺术家的作品,他们延展了对新疆主题的探索和思考。由中央美术学院来承办这次展览,有特别的学院艺术和艺术本体的意味,是国家艺术基金资助下的重要的一种学院探索。

中央美术学院美术馆副馆长王春辰教授认为,展览围绕新疆主题呈现中国几代画家的创作作品,展览虽然名为“写生”,实际上已经超越了写生这一基础的概念,写生这个词汇本身含义非常丰富,中国的绘画一直有这样的传统,就是去观察生活、观察社会,它并不是简单的绘画草图的收集,而是通过这一活动丰富艺术家对世界的体会,从而不同于在工作室中的创作。这次展览展示了中国几代画家从20世纪以来以新疆为主题的创作面貌,每一时期的作品都反映出时代艺术语言的变化,以及他们对新疆这样一个地理、人文环境的捕捉和刻画,其中包含了更大的一个艺术史的视角——中国的绘画曾经长期以中原、内地为主要对象,进入20世纪随着地理概念的扩展,包括绘画领域的扩大,大量画家开始向很多过去不在中国画史中表现的题材和地域去拓展,新疆就是其中之一,当然还包括西藏、西双版纳等等。新疆作为丝绸之路上的重要区域,地域广阔、民族众多、语言丰富,自西汉以来历朝历代形成了富有传奇色彩的环境,艺术家去这里创作,一定会激发很多历史、人文的想象,这些内容和中国传统的文人画不同,看这些作品可以体会中国现代主义艺术的丰富性和多样性,也为现代艺术家提供了艺术滋养来源的丰厚性。这个展览值得我们去思考和观摩,帮助我们打开绘画视野的一个角度,以这个主题表现中国艺术20世纪发展的线索和脉络,可以说是别具一格。

——现代新疆写生的先遣者(1949年以前)
20世纪以来,交通条件的优化,画人西行成为风尚,尤其三四十年代,由于战争的原因,在中国西部聚集了一大批美术家,尤以战时延安画家群和战时重庆画家群最为集中。赴西北写生的美术家虽不像延安画家那样以版画等形式发出对抗战声援的最强音,仍勇敢地走出象牙之塔,由远离大众到亲近大众的转变,充实了艺术学养,并在异域风情的刺激下,他们的艺术技巧得以升华,艺术个性得以发挥。

开掘与新篇
——新中国文艺政策下的西行之路(1949-1978)
新中国以毛泽东《在延安文艺座谈会上的讲话》为指导方针的新的文艺政策,鼓励艺术家到各民族人民大众的生活中去开掘创作的源泉,各民族大众也成为新文艺歌颂表现的对象。彼时新疆文化的需求、前辈艺术家画新疆的魅力,促成了新一代艺术青年搭上了西行的列车,以新疆的社会主义建设和人物面貌为表现重点,画家队伍也空前壮大,新疆也因人物形象之奇俊、风景之奇绝,成为提高艺术技巧的最佳摇篮、悟通艺术规律的大课堂。画新疆不再是个人行为,而成为整个美术群体的共同课题。

壮阔与崇高
——新时期新疆题材的开拓(1979-2000)
随着1978年中共十一届三中全会召开,改革开放的春风吹度天山南北,画新疆的高潮再度涌起,全国各地艺术家们踏着先行者的足迹重新走进新疆,他们避开“文革”盛行的创作模式,试图从新疆少数民族形象中寻找纯朴的创作原型和神秘的审美元素,以此探寻自己的艺术道路。

历史与现实
——新世纪的视野(2000年以来)
进入21世纪,现代生活与边疆遗产共同塑造了现代新疆的新貌,有关新疆的艺术创作一方面更深入地探索西部自然地理与人文风貌而形成的独特的色彩语言,同时艺术家们在精神表达上,从表面的风情猎取走向人性关怀以及生命意识的凸显,突破现实主义的单一创作方法与表现手法,结合写生与田野考察的方式,借鉴现代主义的诸种艺术观念和表现形式,从现实主义的写生新疆题材的表现走向“当代意识”的融合与推进。

当代艺术实践的个案研究
伴随着后现代性、全球化、信息技术,人工智能、元宇宙等各种思潮的纷至沓来,中国的当代艺术实践也呈现出多元化和多样性的状态。特别是近年来,随着人文伦理学、人类学本体论转型和多样性民族志等应对当下的理论兴起,艺术家也认识到,复杂多样的自然物实际上是以一种自由主体的关系共同维系、生产着大家赖以生存的环境。在共生的视角中,思考并寻找我们自己的角色与剧本,或许将更有助于我们在高度发达的科技时代重定位我们的历史和文化。在这种的纬度的考量中,以五位艺术家的项目个案充分体现出这些气质和特性,作为具有典型意义的研究个案呈现。
这些艺术家所表现的少数民族,尽管仍是一种他者的形象,却被如实地呈现为一个普通人的形象。他们穿着日常服装,过着日常生活。他们不再以一种瞬时的方式笑着和舞蹈着,在现实中,他们正经历着当代生活的演进与嬗变。

I fully agree to CAFA Art Museum (CAFAM) submitting to CAFA for publication the images, pictures, texts, writings, and event products (such as works created during participation in workshops) related to me from my participation in public events (including museum member events) organized by the CAFA Art Museum Public Education Department. CAFA can publish these materials by electronic, web, or other digital means, and I hereby agree to be included in the China Knowledge Resource Bank, the CAFA Database, the CAFA Art Museum Database, and related data, documentation, and filing institutions and platforms. Regarding their use in CAFA and dissemination on the internet, I agree to make use of these rights according to the stated Rules.
CAFA Art Museum Event Safety Disclaimer
Article I
This event was organized on the principles of fairness, impartiality, and voluntary participation and withdrawal. Participants undertake all risk and liability for themselves. All events have risks, and participants must be aware of the risks related to their chosen event.
Article II
Event participants must abide by the laws and regulations of the People’s Republic of China, as well as moral and ethical norms. All participants must demonstrate good character, respect for others, friendship, and a willingness to help others.
Article III
Event participants should be adults (people 18 years or older with full civil legal capacity). Underage persons must be accompanied by an adult.
Article IV
Event participants undertake all liability for their personal safety during the event, and event participants are encouraged to purchase personal safety insurance. Should an accident occur during an event, persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for the accident, but both have the obligation to provide assistance. Event participants should actively organize and implement rescue efforts, but do not undertake any legal or economic liability for the accident itself. The museum does not undertake civil or joint liability for the personal safety of event participants.
Article V
During the event, event participants should respect the order of the museum event and ensure the safety of the museum site, the artworks in displays, exhibitions, and collections, and the derived products. If an event causes any degree of loss or damage to the museum site, space, artworks, or derived products due to an individual, persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for losses. The event participant must negotiate and provide compensation according to the relevant legal statutes and museum rules. The museum may sue for legal and financial liability.
Article VI
Event participants will participate in the event under the guidance of museum staff and event leaders or instructors and must correctly use the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities provided for the event. If a participant causes injury or harm to him/herself or others while using the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, or causes the damage or destruction of the tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, the event participant must undertake all related liability and provide compensation for the financial losses. Persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for personal accidents.
CAFA Art Museum Portraiture Rights Licensing Agreement
According to The Advertising Law of the People’s Republic of China, The General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and The Provisional Opinions of the Supreme People’s Court on Some Issues Related to the Full Implementation of the General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and upon friendly negotiation, Party A and Party B have arrived at the following agreement regarding the use of works bearing Party A’s image in order to clarify the rights and obligations of the portrait licenser (Party A) and the user (Party B):
I. General Provisions
(1) Party A is the portraiture rights holder in this agreement. Party A voluntarily licenses its portraiture rights to Party B for the purposes stipulated in this agreement and permitted by law.
(2) Party B (CAFA Art Museum) is a specialized, international modern art museum. CAFA Art Museum keeps pace with the times, and works to create an open, free, and academic space and atmosphere for positive interaction with groups, corporations, institutions, artists, and visitors. With CAFA’s academic research as a foundation, the museum plans multi-disciplinary exhibitions, conferences, and public education events with participants from around the world, providing a platform for exchange, learning, and exhibition for CAFA’s students and instructors, artists from around the world, and the general public. As a public institution, the primary purposes of CAFA Art Museum’s public education events are academic and beneficial to society.
(3) Party B will photograph all CAFA Public Education Department events for Party A.
II. Content, Forms of Use, and Geographical Scope of Use
(1) Content. The content of images taken by Party B bearing Party A’s likeness include: ① CAFA Art Museum ② CAFA campus ③ All events planned or executed by the CAFAM Public Education Department.
(2) Forms of Use. For use in CAFA’s publications, products with CDs, and promotional materials.
(3) Geographical Scope of Use
The applicable geographic scope is global.
The media in which the portraiture may be used encompasses any media that does not infringe upon Party A’s portraiture rights (e.g., magazines and the internet).
III. Term of Portraiture Rights Use
Use in perpetuity.
IV. Licensing Fees
The fees for images bearing Party A’s likeness will be undertaken by Party B.
After completion, Party B does not need to pay any fees to Party A for images bearing Party A’s likeness.
Additional Terms
(1) All matters not discussed in this agreement shall be resolved through friendly negotiation between both parties. Both parties may then sign a supplementary agreement, provided it does not violate any laws or regulations.
(2) This agreement comes into effect on the date that it is signed (sealed) and the relevant boxes are selected by Party A and Party B.
(3) This agreement exists in paper and electronic forms. The paper form is made in duplicate, with Party A and Party B each retaining one copy with the same legal efficacy.
Event participants implicitly accept and undertake all the obligations stated in this agreement. Those who do not consent will be seen as abandoning the right to participate in this event. Before participating in this event, please speak to your family members to obtain their consent and inform them of this disclaimer. After participants sign/check the required box, participants and their families will be seen as having read and agreed to these terms.
