2023年7月23日,由中央美术学院中国画与书法学院、中国画学会共同举办的“刘勃舒先生作品捐赠仪式”与“刘勃舒的艺术人生与学院教学暨追思会”在中国国家画院举行,这是继“继承·坚守·创新——刘勃舒艺术研究展”之后举办的又一重要学术纪念活动。  

刘勃舒先生夫人何韵兰、女儿刘峻、女婿侯舒旸等亲属代表,中央美术学院中国画与书法学院老教授郭怡孮、田黎明、唐勇力、胡伟、陈平、李洋,中国艺术研究院研究生院副院长许俊,清华大学美术学院中国画教研室主任戴顺智,中国传媒大学教授李乃宙,荣宝斋副总经理与荣宝斋画院院长、中国画学会副会长唐辉,中国国家画院副院长纪连彬,中国画学会副秘书长兼办公室主任李汉平以及中央美术学院相关院系部门负责人代表、中国画与书法学院师生代表参加了此次活动。

刘勃舒先生夫人何韵兰女士代表全体家属,向中央美术学院美术馆捐赠了刘勃舒先生的代表作品21幅,包括刘勃舒先生各时期的国画、书法和速写作品。此批作品有着重要的意义,其中两幅是刘勃舒12岁时创作的《群马》《立马》,尤为珍贵,《立马》一幅还有徐悲鸿先生题写的真切鼓励,是为一段画坛佳话的历史见证;《菊花青血汗马》《文火慢炖见功夫 》《春风梳柳展翅抒怀》《病马》等大幅作品可以看到刘勃舒不同时期在骏马题材创作中的探索变化;《小公鸡》《阳春三月》几幅禽鸟题材作品则体现了刘勃舒另一个侧面的笔墨探索。这批作品有着相对完整的时间脉络,对于中央美术学院美术馆的现代中国画收藏序列是非常重要的补充,是今后研究和了解刘勃舒先生的艺术非常珍贵的资料。

“刘勃舒先生作品捐赠仪式”由中央美术学院中国画与书法学院副院长徐海教授主持。他在致辞中表示,刘勃舒先生是新中国培养的第一代艺术家、美术教育家、美术界领导者,同时作为中央美术学院培养的优秀美术人才,刘勃舒先生继承了徐悲鸿先生的美术思想和教学理念,又在实践中加以发展,不断创新,在推动中国画的传承、创新、交流与影响等方面都发挥了重要作用。刘勃舒先生在中央美术学院工作的35年里,培养了一批又一批优秀艺术人才。作为优秀的美术教育家,其教学思想、理念和实践为中央美术学院教育教学的继承和创新发展起到承先启后作用,继徐悲鸿、李可染等老一辈艺术家之后续写了中国美术史的新篇章,为美术教育事业作出了突出贡献。徐海对刘勃舒先生夫人何韵兰女士及家属为完成先生遗愿,将作品捐赠给中央美术学院表达了诚挚的谢意,他表示,这些捐赠作品为美院师生学习和研究提供了珍贵素材。

刘勃舒先生夫人何韵兰女士代表家属向中央美术学院中国画与书法学院、中国画学会与国家画院举办这次活动表达了真挚感谢,她追忆了刘勃舒先生在中央美术学院学习、工作历程以及与老师同学之间的感人记忆,希望通过刘勃舒先生对徐悲鸿先生、蒋兆和先生教学体系的继承与开拓,为未来的中国画教学带来启示。

中央美术学院美术馆馆长张子康在捐赠仪式上表示,这次收藏的刘勃舒先生作品包括速写、素描、创作的草图和各时期创作的不同作品,中央美术学院美术馆将充分利用好这批藏品,并通过这些作品构建刘勃舒先生对艺术的思考和创作脉络,做出高质量的、有学术价值的展览,推动全社会对刘勃舒先生艺术更深层的认知。

中央美术学院科研处处长于洋教授主持“刘勃舒先生的艺术人生与学院教学暨追思会”。他表示,从近现代美术史角度和情感角度,带着温度去回顾一位现当代艺术大家、美术教育家,这恰恰是最学术的态度,从近距离来看刘勃舒先生的艺术人生、艺术成就,梳理其艺术教学、艺术态度等角度进行追思和研究讨论,为今天的追思会赋予了不同的学术意义,这对于研究刘勃舒先生甚至于更好地梳理20世纪学院艺术的发展与中国画教育的发展都有重要价值。

中央美术学院中国画与书法学院老教授田黎明讲到,刘勃舒先生的艺术人生和学院教学体现在把艺术与教学作为一个整体观融入社会性、人民性、教育性的审美功能,并在艺术本体的规律、传承出新、人生与修为的艺术审美中做功夫,从而形成了儒道并行、知行合一的人格历程和艺术风格。他谈到,刘勃舒先生经历了新中国美术发展的时代,同时也经历了中央美院发展的时代与中央美院中国画系整个的教学发展历程,经历了中国画研究院即中国国家画院前身的创立与发展,所以在其教学思想、艺术思想、艺术创作中,无不映射出大时代的影响。他从研究艺术规律、线与笔法、笔墨的灵魂等三个方面深入阐释了刘勃舒先生的艺术思想和创作方法,讲述了刘勃舒先生以“授人以渔”的教学理念与宽厚情怀,不断激励晚辈后学。

中央美术学院中国画与书法学院老教授郭怡孮先生深情回顾了刘勃舒何韵兰夫妇为中国画事业发展做出的努力。他谈到,刘勃舒先生是一位在新时代中国美术发展历程中值得我们学习、研究、纪念的画家、教育家、美术活动家,尤其在他担任中央美术学院中国画系主任直至中央美术学院副院长期间的各个时期都显示出卓越的领导力,从人事安排、教学设置诸多方面为中国画学科的建设和发展做出了杰出贡献。

中央美术学院中国画与书法学院老教授胡伟在发言中说到,刘勃舒先生提携后学晚辈,自己正是其中最受益的一个。胡伟先生回顾了70年代入学后,在美院学习、下乡考察中感受到刘勃舒先生严谨的治学态度和对学生的关爱与提携,他谈到,在下乡考察的艰苦环境中,刘勃舒先生在写生课程中要求以大量速写的方式搜集素材并就地完成创作的教学方法,对学生专业能力的提升产生了巨大作用。

中央美术学院中国画与书法学院老教授唐勇力回忆了自己1982年到中央美术学院进修时,刘勃舒先生经常来看望学生,对课程做出精心安排,并邀请当时一大批国内著名艺术家举办讲座,使自己学到了很多宝贵知识。在刘勃舒先生到中国画研究院当院长后,每有机会相聚都在关心问询教学课程和学生的学习情况,一直关怀支持着中央美院的中国画教学。刘勃舒先生为人性情及对艺术、对工作恰到好处的把握,正契合了何韵兰先生撰文所概括的“自在坚守从艺、潇洒随性做人”。

“当时的中国画系就像一个大家庭,教室和老师家一墙之隔,到老师家很方便,那时候向老师求教是非常随意和自然的。系里面相处融洽得就像一家人,现在回忆起来心里都热乎乎。”中央美术学院中国画与书法学院老教授李洋回忆了自己进行毕业创作《太行丰碑左权》曾得到了刘先生从创作方法到考察路线等多方面的具体指导。他表示,刘勃舒先生是徐悲鸿、蒋兆和体系形成的亲历者,徐蒋体系在今天仍有着非常重要的现实意义。今天缅怀老先生治学思想和学术传统的同时,也为我们带来了更多关于中国画的发展深入思考。

中央美术学院中国画与书法学院老教授陈平在发言中表示,刘勃舒先生画马,而他自己本身就是“千里马”,更是伯乐。在被徐悲鸿先生发现时,他是一匹千里马,而他也像徐悲鸿先生那样善于发现新的年轻人。他谈到,1987年夏刘勃舒先生为陈向迅、赵卫、卢禹舜和他本人在中国画研究院举办了四人山水画展和三天的研讨会,当时学界对中国画怎么发展大家深感迷茫,四人山水画展对于传统的坚守,从传统中寻求创新的思路,得到了张仃、李可染等老先生的肯定。

CAFA can publish these materials by electronic, web, or other digital means, and I hereby agree to be included in the China Knowledge Resource Bank, the CAFA Database, the CAFA Art Museum Database, and related data, documentation, and filing institutions and platforms. Regarding their use in CAFA and dissemination on the internet, I agree to make use of these rights according to the stated Rules.

Article I

If an event causes any degree of loss or damage to the museum site, space, artworks, or derived products due to an individual, persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for losses. The event participant must negotiate and provide compensation according to the relevant legal statutes and museum rules. The museum may sue for legal and financial liability.

Article VI

Event participants will participate in the event under the guidance of museum staff and event leaders or instructors and must correctly use the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities provided for the event. If a participant causes injury or harm to him/herself or others while using the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, or causes the damage or destruction of the tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, the event participant must undertake all related liability and provide compensation for the financial losses. Persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for personal accidents.

CAFA Art Museum Portraiture Rights Licensing Agreement

According to The Advertising Law of the People’s Republic of China, The General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and The Provisional Opinions of the Supreme People’s Court on Some Issues Related to the Full Implementation of the General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and upon friendly negotiation, Party A and Party B have arrived at the following agreement regarding the use of works bearing Party A’s image in order to clarify the rights and obligations of the portrait licenser (Party A) and the user (Party B):

I. General Provisions

(1) Party A is the portraiture rights holder in this agreement. Party A voluntarily licenses its portraiture rights to Party B for the purposes stipulated in this agreement and permitted by law.

(2) Party B (CAFA Art Museum) is a specialized, international modern art museum. CAFA Art Museum keeps pace with the times, and works to create an open, free, and academic space and atmosphere for positive interaction with groups, corporations, institutions, artists, and visitors. With CAFA’s academic research as a foundation, the museum plans multi-disciplinary exhibitions, conferences, and public education events with participants from around the world, providing a platform for exchange, learning, and exhibition for CAFA’s students and instructors, artists from around the world, and the general public. As a public institution, the primary purposes of CAFA Art Museum’s public education events are academic and beneficial to society.

(3) Party B will photograph all CAFA Public Education Department events for Party A.

II. Content, Forms of Use, and Geographical Scope of Use

(1) Content. The content of images taken by Party B bearing Party A’s likeness include: ① CAFA Art Museum ② CAFA campus ③ All events planned or executed by the CAFAM Public Education Department.

(2) Forms of Use. For use in CAFA’s publications, products with CDs, and promotional materials.

(3) Geographical Scope of Use

The applicable geographic scope is global.

The media in which the portraiture may be used encompasses any media that does not infringe upon Party A’s portraiture rights (e.g., magazines and the internet).

III. Term of Portraiture Rights Use

Use in perpetuity.

IV. Licensing Fees

The fees for images bearing Party A’s likeness will be undertaken by Party B.

After completion, Party B does not need to pay any fees to Party A for images bearing Party A’s likeness.

Additional Terms

(1) All matters not discussed in this agreement shall be resolved through friendly negotiation between both parties. Both parties may then sign a supplementary agreement, provided it does not violate any laws or regulations.

(2) This agreement comes into effect on the date that it is signed (sealed) and the relevant boxes are selected by Party A and Party B.

(3) This agreement exists in paper and electronic forms. The paper form is made in duplicate, with Party A and Party B each retaining one copy with the same legal efficacy.

Event participants implicitly accept and undertake all the obligations stated in this agreement. Those who do not consent will be seen as abandoning the right to participate in this event. Before participating in this event, please speak to your family members to obtain their consent and inform them of this disclaimer. After participants sign/check the required box, participants and their families will be seen as having read and agreed to these terms.

(1) Party A is the portraiture rights holder in this agreement. Party A voluntarily licenses its portraiture rights to Party B for the purposes stipulated in this agreement and permitted by law.

(2) Party B (CAFA Art Museum) is a specialized, international modern art museum. CAFA Art Museum keeps pace with the times, and works to create an open, free, and academic space and atmosphere for positive interaction with groups, corporations, institutions, artists, and visitors. With CAFA’s academic research as a foundation, the museum plans multi-disciplinary exhibitions, conferences, and public education events with participants from around the world, providing a platform for exchange, learning, and exhibition for CAFA’s students and instructors, artists from around the world, and the general public. As a public institution, the primary purposes of CAFA Art Museum’s public education events are academic and beneficial to society.

(3) Party B will photograph all CAFA Public Education Department events for Party A.

II. Content, Forms of Use, and Geographical Scope of Use

(1) Content. The content of images taken by Party B bearing Party A’s likeness include: ① CAFA Art Museum ② CAFA campus ③ All events planned or executed by the CAFAM Public Education Department.

(2) Forms of Use. For use in CAFA’s publications, products with CDs, and promotional materials.

(3) Geographical Scope of Use

The applicable geographic scope is global.

The media in which the portraiture may be used encompasses any media that does not infringe upon Party A’s portraiture rights (e.g., magazines and the internet).

III. Term of Portraiture Rights Use

Use in perpetuity.

IV. Licensing Fees

The fees for images bearing Party A’s likeness will be undertaken by Party B.

After completion, Party B does not need to pay any fees to Party A for images bearing Party A’s likeness.

Additional Terms

(1) All matters not discussed in this agreement shall be resolved through friendly negotiation between both parties. Both parties may then sign a supplementary agreement, provided it does not violate any laws or regulations.

(2) This agreement comes into effect on the date that it is signed (sealed) and the relevant boxes are selected by Party A and Party B.

(3) This agreement exists in paper and electronic forms. The paper form is made in duplicate, with Party A and Party B each retaining one copy with the same legal efficacy.

Event participants implicitly accept and undertake all the obligations stated in this agreement. Those who do not consent will be seen as abandoning the right to participate in this event. Before participating in this event, please speak to your family members to obtain their consent and inform them of this disclaimer. After participants sign/check the required box, participants and their families will be seen as having read and agreed to these terms.
