在全球当代艺术的发展态势中,文化的多样性与包容性、群体文化认同、身份认同,尤其是女艺术群体、女性艺术是被持续关注与讨论的议题。多年来,中国的女艺术家凭借独特的美学魅力和创造力在艺术领域持续绽放耀眼的光芒,其艺术特征不仅是追求自主性和独立性,重视材料与形式的多样性,强调社会角色和团体性,还包括最为独特和富有深度内涵的感性化特征。在感性的意识自觉、感性的艺术表达、感性的美学建构上,女艺术家呈现出优秀的素质和能力。她们往往能够打破传统的固有束缚,把对时代浪潮的敏锐关切,对社会现实的深度感悟,对自然、生活的真切热爱,以独特的艺术视角和充满魅力的感性表达,转化为充满自信与力量、散发勃勃生机的艺术创作。不仅为艺术世界带来更加多元和丰富的视觉面貌,更为我们呈现了极富思辨的面对生活、时代与世界的精神维度,是书写和建构现当代艺术史不可或缺的关键力量。


策展人导览

感性是一种基于情感、主观体验的认知方式,代表着直觉和审美的智慧,是一切艺术形态所共同的本质属性,也是美学的基础性问题。黑格尔说“美是理念的感性显现。”指出了感性经验是美的重要来源。艺术的本质属性是创造美,因此艺术创作可以看作是一个高度感性的过程。艺术家通过感性体验和感性表达去呈现美和传递美,与观者产生美的联结和共鸣;观者也以感性方式追寻美的足迹,触摸美的温度,接受美的感悟与启迪,与艺术家一起共同完成艺术创作的整个过程。感性不仅是一种审美体验,更是一种跨越时间和空间、跨越文化和语言的情感交流。感性带来了爱、和平、自由、美好,也塑造了永恒的艺术和思想。影响感性的因素复杂且多样,感性的发挥程度也因人而异,艺术家所处的时代环境、文化氛围,其艺术个性、阅历深浅、知识素养、审美经验以及生理性别的不同,会导致对同一事物感性认知的深度与广度的差异。感性的观察与体验越丰富、越细腻,艺术表达就越深刻,越独特,也就越能打动人。

对于女艺术家而言,感性和她们存在着一种密切而深刻的关系。女艺术家拥有独特的才思和灵性,敏锐的直觉与感知能力,容易从身心体验、情感、经历等感性角度被激发艺术灵感。她们在成长过程中常常被灌输谦逊、柔软、细腻的价值观,促使了她们在艺术创作中倾向于直接表达个人情感和感受。无论是一个闪烁的眼神、一缕日常的落发,还是墙角的一抹阳光,都会被女艺术家获取并进一步转化为有感性特质的形式语言和美学品格,被赋予独特的精神内涵。女性艺术研究领域的开创性学者,《女性与艺术》的主编帕特里夏·梅纳尔迪 (Patricia Mainardi)将1971—1972年定为“女性感性年(The Year of the Feminine Sensibility)”,就是基于在话语、历史、政治和文化等多个层面上,感性是认知、理解和思辨女性艺术最重要的切面。

20世纪70年代以来,西方一些关于女性艺术的学术研究提出女性在艺术创新上的贡献以及性别与艺术流派之间的关系,影响到了博物馆的艺术史分类方法,促使博物馆藏品中的女性比重出现转变。女艺术家被边缘化和被忽视的现象得以改善,一些博物馆和艺术机构正在努力推动藏品性别平等,女性艺术的藏品数量在不断提升。然而,在中国的博物馆和美术馆藏品体系中,以女性艺术来描述和标注馆藏还未被纳入学术标准,女性艺术藏品的比重还远低于男艺术家,这方面还有很大的发展空间。

“多维的感性——中央美术学院美术馆藏女艺术家作品专题展”基于以上背景策划,试图探讨女性艺术中非凡而又往往被忽视的“感性”议题,挖掘感性在女性艺术中的作用与价值,呈现女性艺术的感性力量,重识女艺术家在当代艺术发展中的话语、角色和地位。展览选取42件/组中央美术学院美术馆藏女艺术家的作品,它们的作者大都是来自美术学院的女教师和女学生,作品类别包括:油画、版画、雕塑,摄影/影像、装置、设计等。“多维的感性”并不是强调传统美学的感性,而是希望展现感性被赋予在艺术观念、内容、形式、表达上的更多意义,通过“具身之感”“秩序之感”“媒介之感”三个板块来建构对感性的多层理解和多维认知。

一 | 具身之感

具身为我们创造了一个交织各种感知的复杂网络,如果将感性分解,那具身一定是感性的深刻维度。从艺术创作的界域看,具身可以理解为以触觉、感觉、听觉等身体感知体验激活心理感知,以至对符号、图示的理解、审美和文化认知,以及思维方式的影响。对身体问题的关注是当代法国哲学思想的重要特征之一,梅洛·庞蒂在《知觉现象学》中提出:“我们的身体是活生生的意义的纽结,身体本质上是一个表达空间。”表明作为感官的身体是具身概念中的一个重要媒介,是形式与意义的创作联结。喻红的油画作品《金属的声音》通过描绘孩童的身体感知:蜷趴在流淌的金属液体之上,去聆听金属流动的声音、去触摸大地的温度,以及舞动身躯的植物,实现了从具身到表现象征万物即将复苏的意象关联。而雕塑作品《女同学》的聪慧、羞涩与敏感,《男同学》的耿直、坚毅与淡然,是姜杰凭借敏锐的感知捕捉到的不同人物的性格与微表情。在我们与雕塑的互相凝视中,传递出的一种细腻入微的审美感知。在女艺术家的创作中,身体还是一种创作的自觉。林笑初的《漂浮的想象》和徐华翎的《另一种空间》流露的是对日常生活身体感知瞬间的随性描绘。就像胡明哲选取了潜心朝拜的藏族少女,康蕾用了恬静的自画像、栾雪雁选定了靓丽的都市女性,女艺术家们通过具身的体验来感知自我存在,通过身体来探索和认识周围的世界,以身体的感性作为探知世间万物的触角,进行艺术提炼与审美表达,并将身体各个层面的综合感知转换为美学意象。


二 | 秩序之感

贡布里希在《秩序感》一书中曾提到,人类对秩序感有着强烈的审美渴求,喜欢节奏与韵律。秩序虽常被认为与理性更为紧密,但它与感性并不对立,感性的自由灵动与理性的秩序控制达到高度契合成为艺术创作的最佳状态。一方面,秩序为女艺术家提供了美学创作的框架与路径,帮助她们把感知冲动和感性表达整理成有意义的形式,将富有感性想象力的视觉材料以对称、均衡、聚合、重复、对比、渐变等方式进行组织协调,为作品构筑起强烈的节奏感和韵律美。在现当代艺术历史上,秩序还引发了女艺术家的反叛、挑战和重塑意识,促使她们打破传统的束缚和想象性创作的壁垒,尝试重塑艺术的语言、符号和形式。厐壔的《青铜的启示》,从传统青铜器的造物逻辑中大胆提炼出具有抽象意味的艺术造型,同时融入中国艺术悠远绚烂的色彩和手工操作、材料肌理、笔触刀痕等,呈现了具有视觉交响韵律的秩序美感。薛文静的《拆一根销,解得一件家具!》受传统榫卯结构启发,利用拼合拆解等方式推衍出符合当代家具审美的使用秩序与规范。另一方面,秩序还常常成为女艺术家创作的主题。自然、城市、机器等客观世界的事物被以写实的方式来表现现代社会的具象秩序,而心灵世界、社会意识、历史延续等则被以几何形状、色彩、线条纯化为抽象秩序的表达。高思桦善于在生活中寻找各种形式的秩序与规律,她的《理想园》以具有权利与阻隔、进入与希望意向的“门”为主题,用新艺术运动风格的铁艺门来凸显对秩序性的理解。高美琳的《离婚纪念照》体现了对离婚这种社会抽象秩序的观察、体悟与表达。艺术家鞠婷的作品《聚集的大多数》,以刀入画,把长时间叠加晾干后的多层颜料作为雕刻的对象,雕后的线条按照一定秩序排列,裸露出丰富的色彩和肌理,呈现一种冷静又不失感性的秩序感。


三 | 媒介之感

事实上,正是因为媒介,女艺术家的感性优势才更有可能被视为一种价值。“媒介是人体的延伸”阐明了媒介如何诉诸人的感官来传达信息,以及如何将人的感觉和感知进行物化延展。媒介作为人的感性发挥作用之重要载体,是形塑艺术作品的力量,其具有的形态属性、传播属性、精神属性和文化属性被熔铸到艺术创作的感性形式里,深刻影响着女艺术家的的思考方式、创作语言和审美模式。无论是金属、陶土等物质材料媒介,还是油画、装置、摄影等形式媒介,抑或AR/VR、人工智能等虚拟媒介,媒介协调了感性与理性之间的平衡,促使女艺术家不断推敲意涵、精进作品,进行探索性创新。孙姣娜的《逝者如斯》用绢这种极其轻薄又易破损的材料,来暗示生命的脆弱,唤起人们对必将逝去的生命的伤感。苏雅娜的作品《软的》用软性纤维塑造石头的坚硬,造成了触觉与视觉上的陌生感,将传统手工编织融入其雕塑创作当中,质感的置换不仅是艺术家探索艺术语言的一种方式,更进一步了探索人、物与自然环境的关系。朱静璇的《虚拟的触感》试图通过交互体验的方式,重新建立对日常生活中产品与“人”触觉关联的新反思。吴碧琳的《颅内动物园》表现的是未来时代人类被安放在意识动物园里供它者参观,在硅基文明面前,沦为了所谓落后的“动物”,想要探讨的是当人类欲望的无限膨胀促发技术的高速发展后,技术是否会在某一时刻反噬人类乃至毁灭人类?


基于以上可看出,在感性的思维和行为驱动下,女艺术家创造了别有一番景致的感性视觉生态,从创作理念与内容,到艺术形式与结构,再到媒介与材料,展开了更加自由、多样和个性化的探索和创新。从中既可以窥见女性艺术的共性特征——关注个体意识、身份平等,更可以看到她们对当下现实问题、社会文化的关切。她们将多重的感性体验和高度的个人经验在作品中多层次、多维度、多样化的展开,以此建构起对艺术观念、美学特征、创作语法、话语生产乃至视觉文化等多个问题的思辨,激发了超越物质世界而至精神领域的共鸣。“多维的感性”是一次对女性艺术的新智识探索,呈现了女艺术家群体在当代视觉文化图景的构筑历程中,从感性角度所构筑的主导性、关键性作用。展览希望呈现女性艺术新的观看立场、认知态度和表现方式,并力图激活对艺术创作中感性的关注与研究,重识女性艺术在当代艺术实践中的独特意义与价值,从而推动在艺术史与艺术批评层面对女性艺术进行新的理解与评价。

感性塑造了艺术,它带来了爱、和平、自由、美好,艺术因其所表达的感性和思想而永恒。感性不仅是一种审美体验,更是一种跨越时间和空间、跨越文化和语言的情感交流,永不褪色。

副研究员、博士,中央美术学院美术馆设计总监/设计部主任,中央美术学院设计学院“设计批评与策展研究”“书籍设计研究”方向硕士生导师,中央美术学院美术博物馆虚拟策展实验室设计顾问。曾入选“文化和旅游部2022年度全国美术馆青年策展人扶持计划”,国家艺术基金“2018年度国内艺术人才赴海外艺术机构交流项目”赴纽约Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum工作交流;曾获第四届“靳尚谊青年教师创作奖”,第二届中央美术学院“徐悲鸿奖”,“第九届全国书籍设计艺术展”铜奖等。

CAFA Art Museum Event Safety Disclaimer

Article I

This event was organized on the principles of fairness, impartiality, and voluntary participation and withdrawal. Participants undertake all risk and liability for themselves. All events have risks, and participants must be aware of the risks related to their chosen event.

Article IV

Event participants undertake all liability for their personal safety during the event, and event participants are encouraged to purchase personal safety insurance. Should an accident occur during an event, persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for the accident, but both have the obligation to provide assistance. Event participants should actively organize and implement rescue efforts, but do not undertake any legal or economic liability for the accident itself. The museum does not undertake civil or joint liability for the personal safety of event participants.

Article V

During the event, event participants should respect the order of the museum event and ensure the safety of the museum site, the artworks in displays, exhibitions, and collections, and the derived products. If an event causes any degree of loss or damage to the museum site, space, artworks, or derived products due to an individual, persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for losses. The event participant must negotiate and provide compensation according to the relevant legal statutes and museum rules. The museum may sue for legal and financial liability.

Article VI

Event participants will participate in the event under the guidance of museum staff and event leaders or instructors and must correctly use the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities provided for the event. If a participant causes injury or harm to him/herself or others while using the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, or causes the damage or destruction of the tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, the event participant must undertake all related liability and provide compensation for the financial losses. Persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for personal accidents.

CAFA Art Museum Portraiture Rights Licensing Agreement

According to The Advertising Law of the People’s Republic of China, The General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and The Provisional Opinions of the Supreme People’s Court on Some Issues Related to the Full Implementation of the General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and upon friendly negotiation, Party A and Party B have arrived at the following agreement regarding the use of works bearing Party A’s image in order to clarify the rights and obligations of the portrait licenser (Party A) and the user (Party B):

I. General Provisions

(1) Party A is the portraiture rights holder in this agreement. Party A voluntarily licenses its portraiture rights to Party B for the purposes stipulated in this agreement and permitted by law.

(2) Party B (CAFA Art Museum) is a specialized, international modern art museum. CAFA Art Museum keeps pace with the times, and works to create an open, free, and academic space and atmosphere for positive interaction with groups, corporations, institutions, artists, and visitors. With CAFA’s academic research as a foundation, the museum plans multi-disciplinary exhibitions, conferences, and public education events with participants from around the world, providing a platform for exchange, learning, and exhibition for CAFA’s students and instructors, artists from around the world, and the general public. As a public institution, the primary purposes of CAFA Art Museum’s public education events are academic and beneficial to society.

(3) Party B will photograph all CAFA Public Education Department events for Party A.

II. Content, Forms of Use, and Geographical Scope of Use

(1) Content. The content of images taken by Party B bearing Party A’s likeness include: ① CAFA Art Museum ② CAFA campus ③ All events planned or executed by the CAFAM Public Education Department.

(2) Forms of Use. For use in CAFA’s publications, products with CDs, and promotional materials.

(3) Geographical Scope of Use

The applicable geographic scope is global.

The media in which the portraiture may be used encompasses any media that does not infringe upon Party A’s portraiture rights (e.g., magazines and the internet).

III. Term of Portraiture Rights Use

Use in perpetuity.

IV. Licensing Fees

The fees for images bearing Party A’s likeness will be undertaken by Party B.

After completion, Party B does not need to pay any fees to Party A for images bearing Party A’s likeness.

Additional Terms

(1) All matters not discussed in this agreement shall be resolved through friendly negotiation between both parties. Both parties may then sign a supplementary agreement, provided it does not violate any laws or regulations.

(2) This agreement comes into effect on the date that it is signed (sealed) and the relevant boxes are selected by Party A and Party B.

(3) This agreement exists in paper and electronic forms. The paper form is made in duplicate, with Party A and Party B each retaining one copy with the same legal efficacy.

Event participants implicitly accept and undertake all the obligations stated in this agreement. Those who do not consent will be seen as abandoning the right to participate in this event. Before participating in this event, please speak to your family members to obtain their consent and inform them of this disclaimer. After participants sign/check the required box, participants and their families will be seen as having read and agreed to these terms.

CAFA Art Museum Publication Authorization Agreement

I fully agree to CAFA Art Museum (CAFAM) submitting to CAFA for publication the images, pictures, texts, writings, and event products (such as works created during participation in workshops) related to me from my participation in public events (including museum member events) organized by the CAFA Art Museum Public Education Department. CAFA can publish these materials by electronic, web, or other digital means, and I hereby agree to be included in the China Knowledge Resource Bank, the CAFA Database, the CAFA Art Museum Database, and related data, documentation, and filing institutions and platforms. Regarding their use in CAFA and dissemination on the internet, I agree to make use of these rights according to the stated Rules.

CAFA Art Museum Event Safety Disclaimer

Article I

This event was organized on the principles of fairness, impartiality, and voluntary participation and withdrawal. Participants undertake all risk and liability for themselves. All events have risks, and participants must be aware of the risks related to their chosen event.

Article II

Event participants must abide by the laws and regulations of the People’s Republic of China, as well as moral and ethical norms. All participants must demonstrate good character, respect for others, friendship, and a willingness to help others.

Article III

Event participants should be adults (people 18 years or older with full civil legal capacity). Underage persons must be accompanied by an adult.

Article IV

Event participants undertake all liability for their personal safety during the event, and event participants are encouraged to purchase personal safety insurance. Should an accident occur during an event, persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for the accident, but both have the obligation to provide assistance. Event participants should actively organize and implement rescue efforts, but do not undertake any legal or economic liability for the accident itself. The museum does not undertake civil or joint liability for the personal safety of event participants.

Article V

During the event, event participants should respect the order of the museum event and ensure the safety of the museum site, the artworks in displays, exhibitions, and collections, and the derived products. If an event causes any degree of loss or damage to the museum site, space, artworks, or derived products due to an individual, persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for losses. The event participant must negotiate and provide compensation according to the relevant legal statutes and museum rules. The museum may sue for legal and financial liability.

Article VI

Event participants will participate in the event under the guidance of museum staff and event leaders or instructors and must correctly use the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities provided for the event. If a participant causes injury or harm to him/herself or others while using the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, or causes the damage or destruction of the tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, the event participant must undertake all related liability and provide compensation for the financial losses. Persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for personal accidents.

CAFA Art Museum Portraiture Rights Licensing Agreement

According to The Advertising Law of the People’s Republic of China, The General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and The Provisional Opinions of the Supreme People’s Court on Some Issues Related to the Full Implementation of the General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and upon friendly negotiation, Party A and Party B have arrived at the following agreement regarding the use of works bearing Party A’s image in order to clarify the rights and obligations of the portrait licenser (Party A) and the user (Party B):

I. General Provisions

(1) Party A is the portraiture rights holder in this agreement. Party A voluntarily licenses its portraiture rights to Party B for the purposes stipulated in this agreement and permitted by law.

(2) Party B (CAFA Art Museum) is a specialized, international modern art museum. CAFA Art Museum keeps pace with the times, and works to create an open, free, and academic space and atmosphere for positive interaction with groups, corporations, institutions, artists, and visitors. With CAFA’s academic research as a foundation, the museum plans multi-disciplinary exhibitions, conferences, and public education events with participants from around the world, providing a platform for exchange, learning, and exhibition for CAFA’s students and instructors, artists from around the world, and the general public. As a public institution, the primary purposes of CAFA Art Museum’s public education events are academic and beneficial to society.

(3) Party B will photograph all CAFA Public Education Department events for Party A.

II. Content, Forms of Use, and Geographical Scope of Use

(1) Content. The content of images taken by Party B bearing Party A’s likeness include: ① CAFA Art Museum ② CAFA campus ③ All events planned or executed by the CAFAM Public Education Department.

(2) Forms of Use. For use in CAFA’s publications, products with CDs, and promotional materials.

(3) Geographical Scope of Use

The applicable geographic scope is global.

The media in which the portraiture may be used encompasses any media that does not infringe upon Party A’s portraiture rights (e.g., magazines and the internet).

III. Term of Portraiture Rights Use

Use in perpetuity.

IV. Licensing Fees

The fees for images bearing Party A’s likeness will be undertaken by Party B.

After completion, Party B does not need to pay any fees to Party A for images bearing Party A’s likeness.

Additional Terms

(1) All matters not discussed in this agreement shall be resolved through friendly negotiation between both parties. Both parties may then sign a supplementary agreement, provided it does not violate any laws or regulations.

(2) This agreement comes into effect on the date that it is signed (sealed) and the relevant boxes are selected by Party A and Party B.

(3) This agreement exists in paper and electronic forms. The paper form is made in duplicate, with Party A and Party B each retaining one copy with the same legal efficacy.

Event participants implicitly accept and undertake all the obligations stated in this agreement. Those who do not consent will be seen as abandoning the right to participate in this event. Before participating in this event, please speak to your family members to obtain their consent and inform them of this disclaimer. After participants sign/check the required box, participants and their families will be seen as having read and agreed to these terms.
