Q:请您谈谈中央美术学院设计学院的Motion graphic教学开展情况。(课程设置、师资队伍、教学方法和学生作业等)
A:关于中央美院设计学院开设动态图形设计课程,就是 motion graphic design,已经大约有15年的历史了。从本世纪初期开始引进动态图形设计这样的一个课题,最早是由我主持开设的,包括有“动态图形设计基础”、“动态字体”等内容课程在进行。近些年来,一方面数字媒体专业方向开设此类课程;另一方面,视觉传达方向也有开设了一些相关内容,如“动态文字设计”等。教学的老师包括数字媒体方向的,也有视觉传达方向的老师来参与。学生的作业成果非常显著的,特别是在五年到十年之前等一段时间,学生投入的状态非常充分,有很多好的这种作业、动态设计的创作产生。

Q:西方国家Motion Graphic的教学状况是怎样的?
A:动态图形设计教学研究,从本世纪开始在全球范围慢慢发展起来,特别是在发达国家的艺术设计类的院校,逐步开设了“动态图形设计”相关的专业课程。上世纪90年代开始动态设计逐渐兴起,形成新的数字化的动态设计创作领域。包括电影片头设计、电视栏目包装设计,以及互联网发展后的交互动态设计等。由于信息科技的迅速发展,很多创作应用工具软件的开发极大地推动了创作的发展与动态媒体艺术的形成。相应地,有很多动态相关的课程,涉及比较多的方面:一个是包括动态图形、动态字体文字的设计,另外也包括很多三维的设计,二维动画的设计,以及一些影像创作相关、围绕着动态设计不同角度的课程。很多欧美国家也出版了一些动态设计的教学、综合课题介绍资料,也包括动态创作工具应用软件相关的教程,不同阶段的动态创作课程。

从整体上来看,艺术设计比较发达的国家比较注重很多新的设计创作领域,其艺术设计类院校开设与动态相关的课程比较全面、比较系统,从不同角度教学研究来推进这一专业领域的发展。此领域课程的设置,对于当代学生的培养,有了一个比较完整的系统构建。

Q:从整个设计学科的架构与发展看,Motion graphic在其中处于一个什么位置?
A:目前从整个设计学科发展来说,动态设计正演变成一个主要的设计主体,这就像在传统现代设计里,在静态印刷媒体的框架下视觉传达、平面设计为主体的视觉形态。而到了21世纪,动态数字媒体、交互媒体成为主流,这样一个整个社会发展状态下,动态图形设计、动态艺术也将成为主要的设计创作主体,以及视觉艺术形式主体。
那么传统的平面设计、视觉传达设计是以静态印刷媒体为主要研究对象,这是传统的视觉表达的根本。这种根本在当今动态视觉设计里,依然是审美和形式创作的基础源泉,特别是以媒体和传播作为一个主要的创作方向,它是视觉设计的一个基础。新的视觉面貌,以动态的方式为主,这仍然要依托于传统的、静态的设计理论、理念啊,以及视觉艺术的一些根本形式方式。同时也要研究动态的设计规律,动态设计也会形成更多新的方向变化,动态能够传递更多的形式信息、视觉理念,以及思想和相关的互动性。从发展来看,动态设计的根本,将继续以传统静态设计作为基础,同时在提升研究动态方式下更多的形式规律、表现的规律,包括应用上的一些规律。
目前社会发展、世界发展的一个基本方式,以及互相交流传递的方式,由数字媒体、互动媒体引申了更多相关的专业领域,包括虚拟现实、增强现实、混合现实,包括近来提出的元宇宙的方向。作为动态创作的其他相关方向,从影视动画方面的叙事创作规律,以及镜头语言、规律也会直接影响和支持动态图形设计的发展。当今数字媒体形式,包括沉浸体验的方式、交互的方式,游戏、参与性的媒体方式也都带动了新的媒体设计的形成。这样的新形势下,有关创作的根本、专业的基础,专业的创作应用、新的动态艺术、新的形式规律,都将会形成一个未来设计的主体。
动态设计,将形成未来设计学科整体框架里边最根本的部分,也是最主要的一个部分,同时它将形成设计应用领域非常广泛的一个部分。动态媒体将形成为其它各个方向艺术设计来服务的局面。很多的设计创作都需要动态形式作为传播和对信息内容传递的根本方式。
Q:Motion graphic以创意为导向,但仍无法脱离技术的支撑,随着AI以及ChatGPT的发展,Motion graphic会面临哪些机遇和挑战?
A:动态图形设计(Motion graphic design)同样也是以设计创意为主导的,那么同时因为动态的形成需要很多技术的支持。技术运用已经超越了传统印刷媒体、简单的设计、排版、制作的方式,以及平面图形、图像一些基础软件的支持。动态创作需要包括技术来完成的三维、动态的形成、二维动态的形成以及交互、参与性的形成。这些动态视觉形式,还需要利用更多的技术,例如包括编程的技术来形成新的数字生成的动态艺术视觉。

动态设计创作是比较复杂的艺术创作过程,是更丰富、更复杂、更具有人类艺术创造和思想智慧的浓缩。以前因为人力所限,现在通过技术软件可以帮助人们实现很多创意的表现。从90年代开始,由于数字科技、计算机信息科技的发展,形成了很多的软硬件的支持,能够实现大量的高速运算以及存储的需求。现在新的人工智能技术的发展,对动态设计创作来说,是迎来了一个非常好的发展机遇,它能够帮助创作者更快更好地去完成创作者的理想、创意。所以在当今发展的形势下,对于动态图形设计等新的动态艺术领域的发展,是一个很好的支持,应该是机遇大于挑战。未来会有更多更好的工具来帮助艺术家、动态设计创作者们实现创意和视觉形式演化。

Q:您如何评价此次在中央美术学院美术馆举办的“动见”展览?其学术意义和价值是什么?
A:这次中央美院美术馆举办的“动见”动态设计展,我认为具有非常重要的时代意义。在当今这个时间节点,提出和推动动态设计这样一个主题,将会形成对于未来设计主体从静态向动态、向空间转换的一种方向。将会启动更多的专业工作者、教育领域以及行业对于动态设计、动态艺术的关注,也会引起整个设计发展过程的一个重要的转折。
虽然对于动态图形设计这样一个教学方向和课程,已经从十几年前就在美院开始了。但是随着数字媒体,特别是从2010年前后移动数字终端在整个社会范围内的形成和推广,已经造就了新的一种社会交流和传播的习惯。因此这个展览会对整个艺术创作,特别是设计发展,从整体上引出了新的价值和方向。所以它是一个具有里程碑意义的一个展览。应该引起动态方面专业研究与学习的一个浪潮。
个人简介
靳军
中央美术学院设计学院副院长,教授,博士生导师。他是数字媒体艺术的实践者,拥有艺术、设计、科技等多学科的教育及工作背景,曾取得清华大学电子工程学士学位,美国波士顿大学艺术设计硕士学位。在设计教学与实践领域长期进行艺术、设计与科技创新的探索,主张“艺术与科技的融合”及“大设计”理念。专注数字媒体艺术设计领域的教学、研究、产业创新。相关研究方向包括沉浸体验艺术、数字孪生城市设计等。曾担任“哈佛中国论坛”艺术总监(1998-2002),主持包括2022北京冬奥会动态体育图标设计在内等重大设计类项目,主导策划完成“北京媒体艺术双年展”、“B3动态影像双年展-北京、法兰克福”“二十世纪中国绘画名家邀请展”等多个展览。

CAFA Art Museum Portraiture Rights Licensing Agreement
According to The Advertising Law of the People’s Republic of China, The General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and The Provisional Opinions of the Supreme People’s Court on Some Issues Related to the Full Implementation of the General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and upon friendly negotiation, Party A and Party B have arrived at the following agreement regarding the use of works bearing Party A’s image in order to clarify the rights and obligations of the portrait licenser (Party A) and the user (Party B):
I. General Provisions
(1) Party A is the portraiture rights holder in this agreement. Party A voluntarily licenses its portraiture rights to Party B for the purposes stipulated in this agreement and permitted by law.
(2) Party B (CAFA Art Museum) is a specialized, international modern art museum. CAFA Art Museum keeps pace with the times, and works to create an open, free, and academic space and atmosphere for positive interaction with groups, corporations, institutions, artists, and visitors. With CAFA’s academic research as a foundation, the museum plans multi-disciplinary exhibitions, conferences, and public education events with participants from around the world, providing a platform for exchange, learning, and exhibition for CAFA’s students and instructors, artists from around the world, and the general public. As a public institution, the primary purposes of CAFA Art Museum’s public education events are academic and beneficial to society.
(3) Party B will photograph all CAFA Public Education Department events for Party A.
II. Content, Forms of Use, and Geographical Scope of Use
(1) Content. The content of images taken by Party B bearing Party A’s likeness include: ① CAFA Art Museum ② CAFA campus ③ All events planned or executed by the CAFAM Public Education Department.
(2) Forms of Use. For use in CAFA’s publications, products with CDs, and promotional materials.
(3) Geographical Scope of Use
The applicable geographic scope is global.
The media in which the portraiture may be used encompasses any media that does not infringe upon Party A’s portraiture rights (e.g., magazines and the internet).
III. Term of Portraiture Rights Use
Use in perpetuity.
IV. Licensing Fees
The fees for images bearing Party A’s likeness will be undertaken by Party B.
After completion, Party B does not need to pay any fees to Party A for images bearing Party A’s likeness.
Additional Terms
(1) All matters not discussed in this agreement shall be resolved through friendly negotiation between both parties. Both parties may then sign a supplementary agreement, provided it does not violate any laws or regulations.
(2) This agreement comes into effect on the date that it is signed (sealed) and the relevant boxes are selected by Party A and Party B.
(3) This agreement exists in paper and electronic forms. The paper form is made in duplicate, with Party A and Party B each retaining one copy with the same legal efficacy.
Event participants implicitly accept and undertake all the obligations stated in this agreement. Those who do not consent will be seen as abandoning the right to participate in this event. The media in which the portraiture may be used encompasses any media that does not infringe upon Party A’s portraiture rights (e.g., magazines and the internet).

Use in perpetuity.
IV. Licensing Fees
The fees for images bearing Party A’s likeness will be undertaken by Party B.
After completion, Party B does not need to pay any fees to Party A for images bearing Party A’s likeness.
Additional Terms
(1) All matters not discussed in this agreement shall be resolved through friendly negotiation between both parties. Both parties may then sign a supplementary agreement, provided it does not violate any laws or regulations.
(2) This agreement comes into effect on the date that it is signed (sealed) and the relevant boxes are selected by Party A and Party B.
(3) This agreement exists in paper and electronic forms. The paper form is made in duplicate, with Party A and Party B each retaining one copy with the same legal efficacy.
Event participants implicitly accept and undertake all the obligations stated in this agreement. Those who do not consent will be seen as abandoning the right to participate in this event. Before participating in this event, please speak to your family members to obtain their consent and inform them of this disclaimer. After participants sign/check the required box, participants and their families will be seen as having read and agreed to these terms.
