2023年 11 月 14 日下午,中央美术学院艺术管理与教育学院的系列学术讲座于中央美术学院美术馆报告厅如期举行。本次讲座邀请到了意大利常青画廊和常青艺术协会的创始人之一——马里奥·克里斯蒂阿尼,开启了名为“艺聚万心,对话马里奥·克里斯蒂阿尼和常青艺术协会”的讲座。马里奥·克里斯蒂阿尼就常青艺术协会在意大利的公共艺术项目、艺术家驻地计划、城镇“艺术改造”及“艺术乡建”进行了系统和深入的介绍,并与中央美术学院副院长邱志杰展开了对话。
常青画廊是第一家来到中国798艺术区开设画廊的国外画廊(注释1)。中央美术学院副院长邱志杰在讲座开场前的讲话中表示:常青画廊在画廊经营、展览理念、公益慈善,甚至具体到独树一帜的布展设计工作层面,多年来都做了大量的突破尝试和努力,为中国同行提供了很多宝贵的经验。随后,讲座在轻松且富有实质内容的良好氛围下顺利举行。

发祥与延续:
托斯卡纳的艺术故事
常青艺术协会作为非营利机构,创立于20世纪90年代,旨在于“城市-乡村-社区”之间施行在地化的艺术探索。1996-2005 年期间,通过被命名为“艺术之艺术”(Arte all'Arte)的艺术项目,常青艺术协会将意大利乃至来自世界各地的当代艺术家、策展人“代入”到意大利托斯卡纳大区中的普拉托市(注释2),寻求在当代艺术与包括当地建筑和各类空间在内的人文景观与自然景观里建立平衡的关系和艺术“加成”。项目作品以十分融洽的形式,介入诸如公园、废旧工厂、社区广场、历史建筑的室内外等当地公共区域。

在十年的时间中,“艺术之艺术”为当地带来了40多件永久可全年参观的公共作品和艺术项目,形成了独特的人文“景观”和在地化的嵌入式艺术场景。当然,这些作品绝不仅仅是起到一般意义上公共艺术的装饰和城镇建设的填补作用,它们更着重于深入人与所在环境的思考——强调每个人在环境中和周边事物及他人的联系与边界。
而看似作为“闯入者”的艺术,不仅并未破坏当地的环境平衡,反而在这些空间中,一定程度上扮演着人与环境的弥合与关系修复者的角色:通过大量的作品介入,使得人文情感的温暖,艺术视觉的冲击不断正向叠加,这对帮助属地居民进一步了解和认识当地的文化、历史深度,对日常生活的重建、对加强艺术与生活关联氛围的感知带来了巨大的改变。人们通过“艺术之艺术”与人文关系的全新认识,在这些过往长久居住的、习以为常的地方,重新发现了其中的细节、魅力和感动。
如此这般的人文能量聚集成为艺术存在的长久与“合理性”的催化剂——它甚至带动了项目所在地区的经济发展与城镇建设。而这也正像本次讲座主题提到的那样,艺术在此刻,发挥了“艺聚万心”的能效。

同时,更为值得一提的是,托斯卡纳地区也曾是意大利文艺复兴之心脏——其首府佛罗伦萨的所在地。众所周知,在几个世纪前,这里诞生了人类历史上无数的伟大先贤与艺术家,他们的名字让意大利、让托斯卡纳深深地烙印在了艺术史上。而在文艺复兴时代和思想启蒙的浪潮中,先贤们就开始了强调人与人、情感与个体、自然间的关系重塑,并基于人本主义的普世性艺术创作为整个西方和世界带来观念的转变。
数百年后,同样诞生于托斯卡纳地区——小城圣吉米那诺的常青画廊及同年成立的常青艺术协会,作为意大利当代艺术的代表性画廊和机构,因为常青艺术协会的存在,显然继承了其“同宗同族”之前人们的志向。

生态与环保:
两个关于公益的个案——艺术真的可以为此赋能吗?
水和氧气是人类肉身赖以生存的最重要资源,在常青艺术协会的计划中,特别针对这两种物质发起了相关项目,体现了常青艺术协会对人类生存的现实观照与社会责任的公益性表达。更为难得的是,这种表达没有流于形式,它通过完全的艺术化运作和可切实落地的执行策略,让人们相信,环保主题之于艺术,并不只能是一句美好的口号,二者的相遇产生了极其美妙的化学反应。
案例一:艺术史的偶遇——“酒与水”的价值转换
在文艺复兴时期的意大利,艺术家保罗·委罗内塞于16 世纪创作了他的代表作之一《加纳的婚礼》:根据圣经典故,耶稣曾在此宴会上公开行使了自己的第一次“神迹”,变水为酒。因为宴会的参与者众多,耶稣以此“神迹”为参与婚宴的人“提供”了足量的酒,此作被誉为最具人间烟火气的“宗教画”和最为生动的“圣经故事”演绎。

同样,在几个世纪后,彼时常青艺术协会的“艺术之艺术”项目,在创立初期快速取得了夯实的进展和理念推广成功后,便再次就“水和酒”的问题提出了属于 21 世纪的人文关怀和人本主义担当——“顺势”发起了一项独特的“艺术酒标”项目:“艺术 x 红酒 = 水”——变酒为水。

在“艺术 x 红酒 = 水”的每届项目中,常青艺术协会都会邀请常青画廊代理的知名艺术家对葡萄酒瓶标进行重新创作设计,并组成成套的作品。通过慈善拍卖募捐所得的公益款项,全部用在包括巴西、印度、以色列、巴勒斯坦、塞内加尔、莫桑比克、中国和多哥在内的贫水地区建设水利系统。通过艺术界熟悉的“艺术酒标”传统,常青艺术协会挖掘出了其深刻的内在关联逻辑:如何让艺术与普通人甚至是需要帮助的人们产生关系?常青艺术协会,以“艺术酒标”作为媒介,给贫水地区的人们持续提供宝贵的水资源,让“变酒为水”顺理成章地成了当今人类社会的“神迹”,并完美地回答了这个问题。
无人想到,数百年间“水与酒”的角色互换,从保罗·委罗内塞到常青艺术协会竟两次完成了艺术与人类关系的价值转换。

案例二:“艺树”所带来的氧气
“艺术作为灵魂的氧气,树木为身体提供氧气……反之亦然”。马里奥·克里斯蒂阿尼将艺术对人类灵魂的作用比作树木对人类身体的作用。
常青艺术协会还通过旗下的“艺术造林计划”向普拉托市政府捐赠了15万欧元慈善款项(第一笔),而后者将依此额外拨款对等金额,以在该市相关区域创建一座小型的绿植园地。 而这些捐款,大多也正是向来自协会的艺术家等人士募捐所得。再一次,常青艺术协会让这种看似为了使艺术与其他议题进行名义上的结合,成为了能够获得现实支持和落地执行的艺术项目。

如果重新理解“艺术作为灵魂的氧气,树木为身体提供氧气……反之亦然”这句话,我们会看到,其中的“反之亦然”则赫然指向艺术在人类空间——无论是城市还是没有边界的广袤土地中的作用,它可以任何的形态存在和鼓舞人心,无论艺术还是“艺树”都是我们的世界中无法割舍的“氧气”。

讲座进行到这一段落时,马里奥·克里斯蒂阿尼在谈话中认为:“如果一件创作不是艺术的,那它就一定不是生态的,重要的是人与环境-人与创作-创作与环境的关系,我们所做的事就是为了回归这一系列的关系本质”。
在中央美术学院副院长邱志杰看来,马里奥是一个完美的理想主义者,他的这句话极具代表性——不仅在句式上是典型的“金句”,更极大地诠释了艺术与人关系的重要性,而不是剥离环境后,片面地看待所谓的艺术“重要性”。邱志杰表示:“重要的不是艺术,不要担心‘艺术脱离生活怎么办?’,要担心生活脱离了艺术怎么办……艺术是一种方式”。

从未停止的“文艺复兴”
从城邦到城镇,从彼特拉克到马基雅维利,从现实主义框架到个体思考的自由精神。来自意大利托斯卡纳的常青画廊与常青艺术协会,沿着亚平宁半岛历史脉络的墙垣,以当代艺术手段深入到这片在艺术史上充满里程碑意义,全世界艺术家都心之向往的土地上。不断推进、根植自己的艺术理想,宣讲自身对人文主义精神和当代艺术之于当代生活、在地化思考的真实意义,并试图从托斯卡纳再度出发,将这样的艺术理想在全球范围内蔓延、复兴。

常青画廊在商业运营上的成功,除了在艺术专业象牙塔中和艺术市场上的研究成果,也离不开其自身(常青艺术协会)对于社会公益和艺术与人文价值的持续探讨和深耕,他们所付诸的、行之有效的一列举措和所得成就,为常青的“常青”奠定了深厚的赋能与成功的基础。
其项目的“公共性”也已不仅仅体现在所在场域或艺术作品形式本身的言说,这也是常青画廊作为西方代表性成熟画廊品牌身份得以数十年来持续、平稳运营的关键之一。巧合的是,“常青”无论是中文译名或英文原名“continua”,在彼此所在的语言系统中都有着类似“连续性”和“可持续性”的语意。

或许,“遥远”的 90 年代和本世纪初之顿感、质朴,不能将“热点议题”像当今社交媒体时代中那样成为运动式的发酵,也无法同“网红艺术”比拼视觉和“#话题”的冲击,但因有这样的早期探索,我们仍可以相信人文主义精神不会落寞,仍可相信托斯卡纳的文艺复兴没有远去,仍可相信当代艺术的“常青”。

The event participant must negotiate and provide compensation according to the relevant legal statutes and museum rules. The museum may sue for legal and financial liability.
Article VI
Event participants will participate in the event under the guidance of museum staff and event leaders or instructors and must correctly use the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities provided for the event. If a participant causes injury or harm to him/herself or others while using the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, or causes the damage or destruction of the tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, the event participant must undertake all related liability and provide compensation for the financial losses. Persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for personal accidents.
CAFA Art Museum Portraiture Rights Licensing Agreement
According to The Advertising Law of the People’s Republic of China, The General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and The Provisional Opinions of the Supreme People’s Court on Some Issues Related to the Full Implementation of the General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and upon friendly negotiation, Party A and Party B have arrived at the following agreement regarding the use of works bearing Party A’s image in order to clarify the rights and obligations of the portrait licenser (Party A) and the user (Party B):
I. General Provisions
(1) Party A is the portraiture rights holder in this agreement. Party A voluntarily licenses its portraiture rights to Party B for the purposes stipulated in this agreement and permitted by law.
(2) Party B (CAFA Art Museum) is a specialized, international modern art museum. CAFA Art Museum keeps pace with the times, and works to create an open, free, and academic space and atmosphere for positive interaction with groups, corporations, institutions, artists, and visitors. With CAFA’s academic research as a foundation, the museum plans multi-disciplinary exhibitions, conferences, and public education events with participants from around the world, providing a platform for exchange, learning, and exhibition for CAFA’s students and instructors, artists from around the world, and the general public. As a public institution, the primary purposes of CAFA Art Museum’s public education events are academic and beneficial to society.
(3) Party B will photograph all CAFA Public Education Department events for Party A.
II. Content, Forms of Use, and Geographical Scope of Use
(1) Content. The content of images taken by Party B bearing Party A’s likeness include: ① CAFA Art Museum ② CAFA campus ③ All events planned or executed by the CAFAM Public Education Department.
(2) Forms of Use. For use in CAFA’s publications, products with CDs, and promotional materials.
(3) Geographical Scope of Use
The applicable geographic scope is global.
The media in which the portraiture may be used encompasses any media that does not infringe upon Party A’s portraiture rights (e.g., magazines and the internet).
III. Term of Portraiture Rights Use
Use in perpetuity.
IV. Licensing Fees
The fees for images bearing Party A’s likeness will be undertaken by Party B.
After completion, Party B does not need to pay any fees to Party A for images bearing Party A’s likeness.
Additional Terms
(1) All matters not discussed in this agreement shall be resolved through friendly negotiation between both parties. Both parties may then sign a supplementary agreement, provided it does not violate any laws or regulations.
(2) This agreement comes into effect on the date that it is signed (sealed) and the relevant boxes are selected by Party A and Party B.
(3) This agreement exists in paper and electronic forms. The paper form is made in duplicate, with Party A and Party B each retaining one copy with the same legal efficacy.
Event participants implicitly accept and undertake all the obligations stated in this agreement. Those who do not consent will be seen as abandoning the right to participate in this event. Before participating in this event, please speak to your family members to obtain their consent and inform them of this disclaimer. After participants sign/check the required box, participants and their families will be seen as having read and agreed to these terms.

As a public institution, the primary purposes of CAFA Art Museum’s public education events are academic and beneficial to society.
(3) Party B will photograph all CAFA Public Education Department events for Party A.
II. Content, Forms of Use, and Geographical Scope of Use
(1) Content. The content of images taken by Party B bearing Party A’s likeness include: ① CAFA Art Museum ② CAFA campus ③ All events planned or executed by the CAFAM Public Education Department.
(2) Forms of Use. For use in CAFA’s publications, products with CDs, and promotional materials.
(3) Geographical Scope of Use
The applicable geographic scope is global.
The media in which the portraiture may be used encompasses any media that does not infringe upon Party A’s portraiture rights (e.g., magazines and the internet).
III. Term of Portraiture Rights Use
Use in perpetuity.
IV. Licensing Fees
The fees for images bearing Party A’s likeness will be undertaken by Party B.
After completion, Party B does not need to pay any fees to Party A for images bearing Party A’s likeness.
Additional Terms
(1) All matters not discussed in this agreement shall be resolved through friendly negotiation between both parties. Both parties may then sign a supplementary agreement, provided it does not violate any laws or regulations.
(2) This agreement comes into effect on the date that it is signed (sealed) and the relevant boxes are selected by Party A and Party B.
(3) This agreement exists in paper and electronic forms. The paper form is made in duplicate, with Party A and Party B each retaining one copy with the same legal efficacy.
Event participants implicitly accept and undertake all the obligations stated in this agreement. Those who do not consent will be seen as abandoning the right to participate in this event. Before participating in this event, please speak to your family members to obtain their consent and inform them of this disclaimer. After participants sign/check the required box, participants and their families will be seen as having read and agreed to these terms.
