The Western Han Dynasty pottery horse head from the collection, transcending a time span of over two thousand years, has been transformed into a modern art installation over four meters tall, standing quietly in the center of the hall on the first floor of the art museum. It not only greets every visitor who steps into this palace of art but also serves as an artistic symbol connecting the four exhibitions and bridging the ancient and the modern. While admiring the contemporary art installation, visitors can also stroll through the artistic corridor of two thousand years, experiencing the visual evolution from Warring States bronze mirrors to modern oil paintings, and appreciating Mr. Zhou Lingzhao's seventy years of artistic perseverance.
When visitors walk out of the art museum, they hold the "fortune" character from the collection in their hands, while their hearts are filled with artistic memories from ancient times to the present. The life scenes on the Han Dynasty portrait bricks, the vivid expressions of the Tang Dynasty pottery figurines, the imprints of the times depicted by Zhou Lingzhao, and the boundless imagination of the graduates will together form the unique cultural memories of this Spring Festival.

"Art" Starts the New Year Right Away
Welcoming the Spring Festival in the Art Museum
The installation work "Art Starts the New Year Right Away" in the first-floor exhibition hall was created by artist Lu Zhengyuan, with a height of nearly 5 meters. The "horse head" image is derived from the "Western Han Dynasty Pottery Horse Head", an ancient Chinese art collection on the second floor of the Central Academy of Fine Arts Art Museum. On the basis of maintaining the spirit and vitality of the original "horse head" image, the artist refined the shape and carried out artistic creation, with the core concept of "having art right away" to "start the new year with art" together with the audience.

The exhibition "Painted in the Depths of Time: Exhibition of Works Donated by Mr. Zhou Lingzhao" in Gallery 3A is an artistic dialogue spanning time and space. The exhibition focuses on presenting 221 works donated by Mr. Zhou Lingzhao to the Art Museum of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, covering various categories such as watercolor, gouache, sketch, comic strip, mural, poster, and design. The time span ranges from 1938 to 2008, spanning his 70-year artistic practice.

Exhibition of Graduation Picture Books and Animation Works by Central Academy of Fine Arts Graduates
Hall B on the 3rd floor has been transformed into a wonderful wonderland of imagination, where "Colorful Imagination – Exhibition of Graduation Picture Books and Animation Works by Central Academy of Fine Arts Graduates" is being held. The exhibition brings together outstanding graduation works from the Picture Book and Animation majors of the Central Academy of Fine Arts over the past decade. It features 37 sets of picture book works by nearly 50 artists, more than 300 pieces, and 10 animation works. These works not only present wonderful stories but also pay special attention to cultivating the ability to observe the world, inspiring various possibilities of thinking through colors and shapes. This is a paradise for children and a wonderland for adults to rediscover their childlike innocence.

A 2000-Year Microcosm of Art
Exhibitions from the Collection of the CAFA Art Museum
The "Exhibitions from the Collection of the Central Academy of Fine Arts Art Museum" in the second-floor exhibition hall, featuring nearly 500 works, presents a microcosm of Chinese art spanning over 2,000 years. The exhibition is divided into two major parts: "Ancient Chinese Art" and "Modern Chinese Fine Arts". The ancient section includes not only the conventional sequence of calligraphy and painting, but also a sequence of ancient cultural relics such as bronze mirrors, pictorial bricks, figurines, ceramics, and religious statues. The modern fine arts section, arranged in chronological order, sorts out and presents the 100-year development context of plastic arts such as oil painting, traditional Chinese painting, printmaking, and sculpture. It is worth mentioning that the exhibition uses digital technology to digitally restore and display some cultural relics, allowing visitors to intuitively understand their original appearance.

Event participants will participate in the event under the guidance of museum staff and event leaders or instructors and must correctly use the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities provided for the event. If a participant causes injury or harm to him/herself or others while using the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, or causes the damage or destruction of the tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, the event participant must undertake all related liability and provide compensation for the financial losses. Persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for personal accidents.
CAFA Art Museum Portraiture Rights Licensing Agreement
According to The Advertising Law of the People’s Republic of China, The General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and The Provisional Opinions of the Supreme People’s Court on Some Issues Related to the Full Implementation of the General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and upon friendly negotiation, Party A and Party B have arrived at the following agreement regarding the use of works bearing Party A’s image in order to clarify the rights and obligations of the portrait licenser (Party A) and the user (Party B):
I. General Provisions
(1) Party A is the portraiture rights holder in this agreement. Party A voluntarily licenses its portraiture rights to Party B for the purposes stipulated in this agreement and permitted by law.
(2) Party B (CAFA Art Museum) is a specialized, international modern art museum. CAFA Art Museum keeps pace with the times, and works to create an open, free, and academic space and atmosphere for positive interaction with groups, corporations, institutions, artists, and visitors. With CAFA’s academic research as a foundation, the museum plans multi-disciplinary exhibitions, conferences, and public education events with participants from around the world, providing a platform for exchange, learning, and exhibition for CAFA’s students and instructors, artists from around the world, and the general public. As a public institution, the primary purposes of CAFA Art Museum’s public education events are academic and beneficial to society.
(3) Party B will photograph all CAFA Public Education Department events for Party A.
II. Content, Forms of Use, and Geographical Scope of Use
(1) Content. The content of images taken by Party B bearing Party A’s likeness include: ① CAFA Art Museum ② CAFA campus ③ All events planned or executed by the CAFAM Public Education Department.
(2) Forms of Use. For use in CAFA’s publications, products with CDs, and promotional materials.
(3) Geographical Scope of Use
The applicable geographic scope is global.
The media in which the portraiture may be used encompasses any media that does not infringe upon Party A’s portraiture rights (e.g., magazines and the internet).
III. Term of Portraiture Rights Use
Use in perpetuity.
IV. Licensing Fees
The fees for images bearing Party A’s likeness will be undertaken by Party B.
After completion, Party B does not need to pay any fees to Party A for images bearing Party A’s likeness.
Additional Terms
(1) All matters not discussed in this agreement shall be resolved through friendly negotiation between both parties. Both parties may then sign a supplementary agreement, provided it does not violate any laws or regulations.
(2) This agreement comes into effect on the date that it is signed (sealed) and the relevant boxes are selected by Party A and Party B.
(3) This agreement exists in paper and electronic forms. The paper form is made in duplicate, with Party A and Party B each retaining one copy with the same legal efficacy.
Event participants implicitly accept and undertake all the obligations stated in this agreement. Those who do not consent will be seen as abandoning the right to participate in this event.
