由我馆与今日美术馆主办的“传模移写——李纲实验水墨作品展”将于6月3日在今日美术馆开幕。展期为6月3日至6月10日。
李纲为我馆公共教育与发展部主任,此次展览是他自2009年来京之后一项重要展览项目,体现了作为艺术家的李纲对于实验水墨不懈的思考和实践。透过此次展出的作品我们可以看到他思考的成果。本次展览的策展人皮力在展览序言中写道,李纲的折叠和拓印以及转印的手法,赋予了这些画面以一种冷峻的精神气质和特别的直观。如果将此放在当下的当代水墨的背景中来看,这种接近于“硬边抽象”的风格很有些特别。

李纲:体验与修为
几年前写过一篇关于好友李纲转型期作品的文章,当时,充满干劲的他,画出了一堆一堆的新作,真有“废纸三千”的气概。后来,我来了北京,他有一天,忽然辞去了稳稳当当的“铁饭碗”,也像我一样来“北漂”了。我们的“北漂”有某种相似之处,既在一个“公家”单位谋得一份薪水,同时,工余便热衷于自己的艺术实验。这一方面,李纲特别有状态。记得当年写他的文章有这样的描述和思考:
几天没见面,李纲又弄出了一大篓的画来,而且还弄得像个“生产队员”,趴上趴下,叠来贴去,折腾一番就出来一堆又一堆的新作品。我总佩服李纲有这样的能耐,干如何事都有一种呼风唤雨的“大撒盐”的气概,且能够多头出击,东打一枪西放好几炮。在潮汕话的土语中,“撒盐”隐含有“大”和“粗”的意思,气魄大,敢做,但有时免不了也有些粗。粗也便粗,李纲终究能够做出一些大的事来。
画画的事,可大也可小,要粗也要细,大和粗是一种想法和理念,而小与细则是一种感觉和体验,李钢最近的这批作品,我忽然觉得他似乎突发出某种的想法,并寻找着自己的一种感觉,我一直在想,究竟是什么的想法和感觉?
李纲以前是搞版画的,刻起木刻来对刀对木对印痕都有特别的感觉,后来他又转向了画国画水墨,也试图在用笔和用墨方面找到与古人的心对话,与时代的话语连接的方式,但是我一直觉得他在“国画”和“笔墨”方面还没找到感觉,还处在不断地练“笔”练“墨”之中。但是近年来,多头出击的李纲由于工作和性格的关系,结交了不少 “另类”的朋友,也参与和组织了一些实验和当代艺术的活动,渐渐地,又有了一种“另类”的想法和感觉,于是,他将“笔”啊“画”啊“写”啊放到一边,玩起叠纸浸墨,撕撕贴贴了。
观李纲近期的这些“实验”,我觉得有三重递进的关系和意义可以作为切入点来进行表述,一是“过程”,他的这批名之为“ 系列”的作品,尝试着对制作过程的体验和乐趣,他不在于描绘什么或表现什么,不在于从哪开始又最后的结果怎样,他往往在忙忙乱乱而有了片刻的闲歇时开始他的“过程”,叠纸、洒水、浸墨、摊平、撕纸、弄皱、拼贴,等等等等,一点一滴,慢慢做来,过程构成了他的体验,而体验也贯穿了过程,那么,他的这种体验导出了对水、对墨、对纸材媒介的美学感觉和文化意义,而水墨宣纸却恰恰隐含着东方文化的一种本质性的认知和体验性的乐趣;二是“图式”,对中国画的美学感觉和文化意义的认知,我们已习惯于从“山水”、“花鸟”、“人物”以及“笔墨”等等的图式和程式中来获得,似乎只有在这样的一些图式中才能够引发出一种与传统文化、东方文化对接的意义来,因此大家也多倾尽心力以求在这样的图式范畴中的突破。李纲的突破可能有些大,甚至可以说是另立炉灶,尝试着一种新的图式,他试图摆脱传统而经典的“S”型的变化构图、笔墨的疏密聚散关系、似与不似的造型原则等,而代之于近乎方方正正的抽象方格、横横竖竖的浓淡几乎均衡的线条、打乱又重组的撕贴方式、不同材质的对比和对话的关系等等,构成了他在当代文化情境中的对水墨艺术的一种理解和表达,也形成了这种很个人化的水墨表达图式;三是“感觉”和“体验”,其实,对中国画、对水墨,关键的是对这种艺术形式的文化表达和深度体验,形式和图式可能是多种多样,而能够引导人们去达到文化体验的境界,或表达出艺术家对文化的独特的个人化的深度体验,这才构成艺术创作的意义。李纲力图安静地表达自己对水墨作为一种艺术方式也作为一种文化语言的感觉和体验,在这种水墨方格的深处,在黑白的浓淡墨色的背后所透露出来的特殊的审美感觉和意蕴,这需要用心去静静体验,作为艺术家创作者的李钢必需这样去做,而作为读者的我们也需要用心去体会。
于是,李纲的“实验”进行着这样的“过程”,图式的生成、感觉的表达、文化的体验,水墨作为媒材也作为语言透露和生成着当下的文化意义。
“大撒盐”的李纲有大粗也有小细,但是,他的“实验”也才刚刚是“过程”的一个开始,也还大多处于大与粗,甚至还有不少火气的阶段,我寄望于他安下心来,用心来体验人生、社会、文化,将这样的个人化体验转化为属于自己的水墨表达。
当时,写他的文章,所用的题目和重点是“体验是一种文化态度”,“体验”一直是他艺术创作的出发点。然而,现在的他,已将这样的艺术创作“体验”转化和上升为日常生活的“修为”,转化和上升为人生过程的一种行为方式,以这样的行为和修为以达生命的某种境界。水墨,日常印记,生命痕迹,精神状态,人生境界,这可能成为李纲新的历史阶段,新的生存空间及新的生命历程的一种“修为”表达。

CAFA can publish these materials by electronic, web, or other digital means, and I hereby agree to be included in the China Knowledge Resource Bank, the CAFA Database, the CAFA Art Museum Database, and related data, documentation, and filing institutions and platforms. Regarding their use in CAFA and dissemination on the internet, I agree to make use of these rights according to the stated Rules.
CAFA Art Museum Event Safety Disclaimer
Article I
This event was organized on the principles of fairness, impartiality, and voluntary participation and withdrawal. Participants undertake all risk and liability for themselves. All events have risks, and participants must be aware of the risks related to their chosen event.
Article II
Event participants must abide by the laws and regulations of the People’s Republic of China, as well as moral and ethical norms. All participants must demonstrate good character, respect for others, friendship, and a willingness to help others.
Article III

If an event causes any degree of loss or damage to the museum site, space, artworks, or derived products due to an individual, persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for losses. The event participant must negotiate and provide compensation according to the relevant legal statutes and museum rules. The museum may sue for legal and financial liability.
Article VI
Event participants will participate in the event under the guidance of museum staff and event leaders or instructors and must correctly use the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities provided for the event. If a participant causes injury or harm to him/herself or others while using the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, or causes the damage or destruction of the tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, the event participant must undertake all related liability and provide compensation for the financial losses. Persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for personal accidents.
CAFA Art Museum Portraiture Rights Licensing Agreement
According to The Advertising Law of the People’s Republic of China, The General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and The Provisional Opinions of the Supreme People’s Court on Some Issues Related to the Full Implementation of the General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and upon friendly negotiation, Party A and Party B have arrived at the following agreement regarding the use of works bearing Party A’s image in order to clarify the rights and obligations of the portrait licenser (Party A) and the user (Party B):
I. General Provisions
(1) Party A is the portraiture rights holder in this agreement. Party A voluntarily licenses its portraiture rights to Party B for the purposes stipulated in this agreement and permitted by law.
(2) Party B (CAFA Art Museum) is a specialized, international modern art museum. CAFA Art Museum keeps pace with the times, and works to create an open, free, and academic space and atmosphere for positive interaction with groups, corporations, institutions, artists, and visitors. With CAFA’s academic research as a foundation, the museum plans multi-disciplinary exhibitions, conferences, and public education events with participants from around the world, providing a platform for exchange, learning, and exhibition for CAFA’s students and instructors, artists from around the world, and the general public. As a public institution, the primary purposes of CAFA Art Museum’s public education events are academic and beneficial to society.
(3) Party B will photograph all CAFA Public Education Department events for Party A.
II. Content, Forms of Use, and Geographical Scope of Use
(1) Content. The content of images taken by Party B bearing Party A’s likeness include: ① CAFA Art Museum ② CAFA campus ③ All events planned or executed by the CAFAM Public Education Department.
(2) Forms of Use. For use in CAFA’s publications, products with CDs, and promotional materials.
(3) Geographical Scope of Use
The applicable geographic scope is global.
The media in which the portraiture may be used encompasses any media that does not infringe upon Party A’s portraiture rights (e.g., magazines and the internet).
III. Term of Portraiture Rights Use
Use in perpetuity.
IV. Licensing Fees
The fees for images bearing Party A’s likeness will be undertaken by Party B.
After completion, Party B does not need to pay any fees to Party A for images bearing Party A’s likeness.
Additional Terms
(1) All matters not discussed in this agreement shall be resolved through friendly negotiation between both parties. Both parties may then sign a supplementary agreement, provided it does not violate any laws or regulations.
(2) This agreement comes into effect on the date that it is signed (sealed) and the relevant boxes are selected by Party A and Party B.
(3) This agreement exists in paper and electronic forms. The paper form is made in duplicate, with Party A and Party B each retaining one copy with the same legal efficacy.
Event participants implicitly accept and undertake all the obligations stated in this agreement. Those who do not consent will be seen as abandoning the right to participate in this event. Before participating in this event, please speak to your family members to obtain their consent and inform them of this disclaimer. After participants sign/check the required box, participants and their families will be seen as having read and agreed to these terms.
