讲座内容:
17-18世纪,尽管威尼斯共和国逐步走向衰落,但威尼斯艺术依然充满光辉,在欧洲占有重要地位。

 

17世纪,威尼斯艺术主要在私人赞助的支持下继续发展,艺术家对宫殿、别墅、教会场所进行装饰,为个人或家庭的庆典活动服务,巴洛克艺术逐渐崛起。而18世纪的威尼斯艺术则开启了洛可可绘画的时代。

 

此次讲座将对17-18世纪的威尼斯艺术进行详尽分析,从威尼斯巴洛克艺术的两大风格类型和流派、重获欧洲认可和赞誉的威尼斯的洛可可艺术到18世纪威尼斯的城市风景画,从艺术家比如提埃波罗谈到卡纳莱托和瓜尔迪等等,为观众呈现17-18世纪威尼斯艺术的发展脉络和全景。

萨维里奥西米德布吉斯(Saverio Simi De Burgis

 

意大利威尼斯美术学院教授,意大利著名艺术评论家和艺术史学家。自1985年起在威尼斯美术学院任教,研究方向为当代艺术史与艺术评论方法学。

他出版和参与创作了多部专题著作和评论文章,如:《越境:中国先锋艺术》、《20世纪的威尼斯美术学院》、《强卡洛弗兰科特拉蒙丁:美之概念》、《时间的诱惑》、《解剖学与绘画》、《逆光:第51届威尼斯艺术双年展》等。

 

此外,他还参与编纂了《20世纪艺术字典》(MacMillan Publishers Ltd, London-New York, 1995/1996)第一册中的艺术家词条,并于2008年出版了专著《19世纪意大利雕塑中的绘画:新古典主义与修复》。他与艺术家特拉蒙丁和托萨合作,策划并组织了意大利著名视觉雕塑家阿尔贝托维亚尼的个展和专题研讨会,并主编了研讨会论文集《阿尔贝托维亚尼和他的时光》(2007年)。

作为艺术评论家,他还与组织了多个当代艺术展览,足迹遍及意大利、波兰、瑞典、西班牙、希腊、英国、中国、美国、比利时、澳大利亚、挪威和阿尔巴尼亚等国。

十七世纪  “黑暗与对光亮的收复 

 

对于威尼斯而言,十七世纪是一个充满阴影的时代:位于大西洋沿岸的强国不断向美洲拓展殖民地,为此给整个欧洲带来了沉重的政治和经济压力;1630年发生的恐怖的大瘟疫令民生潦倒;在对抗土耳其帝国扩张的军事行动上花费巨大,因为威尼斯王国在东部地中海地区的城堡和要塞或已被攻陷或面临巨大威胁,为此耗费了王国的大量资源。

 

这一时期的艺术活动很少有公共机构参与,而是主要依赖私人对艺术事业的资助。艺术家们对宫殿、别墅、教会场所进行装饰,为个人或家庭的庆典活动服务。在绘画方面,十七世纪是属于明暗对照法的时代,过去的辉煌与对未来的期许和狂热交织在一起。

 

十七世纪上半叶,大部分画家延续了十六世纪晚期威尼斯主要画室的风格,其中的主要代表人物是帕尔玛·乔瓦内。与提香和丁托莱托相比,这部分画家采用的色彩更加暗淡和忧郁。随后,巴洛克绘画也开始在威尼斯出现。这段时期,也有不少外国画家在威尼斯或长或短地停留过进行创作,他们大多来自其它重要的艺术中心,如罗马、那不勒斯、热那亚,以及发法国、德国和北欧等地。

 

概括来说,威尼斯的巴洛克绘画和其它地区相比在趋势和内容选择上是有区别的。首先,是对卡拉瓦乔独树一帜的自然主义的追随,属于二手模仿,同时经过了古典主义者的润色,或是受到鲁本斯和范·戴克等人留给意大利的色彩灵感的影响。

 

另外一个威尼斯独有的趋势则出现在十七世纪下半叶,这段时期也有黑暗时期之称,其特点是强调非常强烈的明暗对比,以求让作品中的形象令人印象深刻,甚至变得极端。值得关注的还有对内容的选择。除了历史和神话为主题创作寓意画和宗教画之外,威尼斯的巴洛克绘画还特别关注了小题材,并且在市场上获得了极大成功,如风景画、静物、战争以及平民生活等。

 

十七世纪后期,已经厌倦了人物画的威尼斯画家们终于找到了出路,开始进行室内壁画的创作,并从舞台背景绘制法中汲取透视画技巧。这段时期的代表画家主要来自艾米利亚地区。

 

应该说,罗马和艾米利亚的巴洛克绘画模式主要是以有幻术师之称的十六世纪画家柯雷乔和帕米贾尼诺为基础的,而威尼斯的巴洛克绘画模式则更受到保罗·委罗内塞的影响,强调光线与色彩的平衡,构图精巧,还有利用透视法创作的缩小画。这一时期威尼斯绘画的发展为十八世纪的最后辉煌打下了坚实的基础。

十八世纪  最后的辉煌

 

第一部分 洛可可:从里齐到提埃波罗

 

继承了后巴洛克时期光线主义者留下的丰厚遗产,塞巴斯蒂亚诺·里齐在威尼斯开启了十八世纪洛可可绘画时代

 

这一时代的作品所采用的色彩大都简单、明快、熠熠生辉。对威尼斯绘画来说,这确实是一段非常特别的时期。画家们在欧洲范围内得到了广泛认可,并且有着极高的声誉,因此来自各地的邀约络绎不绝。

 

当时威尼斯几乎所有的画家都在忙于创作,其中有一部分画家留在威尼斯,另外一部分则受到欧洲各地王公贵族的邀请前往当地进行专门创作。特别是那些擅长为教堂等建筑创作壁画的画家们更是获得了巨大的成功(其中最著名的无疑要数吉安巴蒂斯塔提埃波罗)。

 

这一时期的画家们尽管都来自威尼斯和附近的威内托地区,但他们在全欧洲所享有的声誉很快便引起了当时收藏家们的广泛关注,自然也受到更多名人的喜爱。罗萨尔巴·卡列拉就是其中之一,她用色粉画技巧创作的肖像画作品在德国、奥地利和巴黎等地的王宫都大受欢迎。

 

在威尼斯,画家吉安巴蒂斯塔皮亚泽塔举办的培训课程受到了广泛关注,因为他通过对明暗关系的处理展现出了精彩的日光效果,从而揭示了颜色与暗影程度之间有着十分密切的关联。他的这一发现为他带来了众多追随者,其中不乏有才华的年轻画家,如安东尼奥·马里内蒂。

 

然而,不论是在威尼斯,还是在整个欧洲,十八世纪威尼斯绘画最有代表性的画家还是要数吉安巴蒂斯塔提埃波罗。在创作过程中,这位多才多艺但脾气古怪的天才艺术家有着极为大胆的构图,充满魅力的色彩运用,以及几近炫目的强光运用。应该说,吉安巴蒂斯塔提埃波罗精湛的绘画技巧主要源于早期对十六世纪代表画家委罗内塞的学习。

 

在他创作的大量壁画作品中出现的人物、神像、神话中的天使、透彻天空中淡淡的白云等等,都可谓提埃波罗成功的标志!他曾受邀前往德国和西班牙王宫进行创作,但艺术生涯晚期仍旧是在威尼斯度过的,一生中为我们留下了足以令人惊叹的杰作。

 

作为威尼斯绘画最后的辉煌时代,这一时期的作品尽管表面荣光,不失魅力,但却无法掩盖其走向衰落的趋势。这在十八世纪下半叶由吉安巴蒂斯塔的两个儿子,即吉安多米尼科和洛伦佐·提埃波罗创作的作品中便不难看出。

第二部分:皮耶特罗隆吉的讲述与乡村消遣

 

如上个世纪的情形一样,有一部分画家将穿过重心放在了小题材内容上,甚至包括单纯的装饰工作,并因此受到了大众的欢迎。皮耶特罗·隆吉就是一位以讲述小故事、日常生活和爱情故事见长的天才画家,宫殿、商铺和威尼斯乡村的狭小角落是他的主要创作空间,其作品主人公以贵族、中产阶级和平民百姓为主。

 

他就像一位敬业的历史学家,用画笔真实记录着已经开始走向没落的威尼斯共和国的日常景象:小型典礼、家庭聚会占据了生活中的大部分时间;人们大多举止轻浮;贵族和中产阶级对著名的威尼斯狂欢节的各种游戏和市井生活充满好奇。可以说,隆吉的作用真的如同一位社会新闻报道员一般。他的儿子阿莱桑德罗·隆吉也延续了父亲的风格。

 

同样是在这段时期,源自十七世纪北欧地区和法国的风景画也得到了广泛认可。这类风景画的内容轻松愉快,主要描绘贵族或平民在乡村的消遣时光。那时的人们徜徉在金色年代那田园牧歌般的世界里,草木茂盛,水流潺潺,远处天空湛蓝,但周遭的这一切繁荣景象其实都只是虚幻。这类油画作品的代表画家是弗朗切斯科·祖卡莱利和安东尼奥·扎伊斯。

第三部分:卡纳莱托与瓜尔迪:风景画中的威尼斯 Venezia 'messa in scena'

 

城市风景画,也被称为风景画主义,起源于十七世纪的荷兰,由荷兰画家加斯帕··维特介绍到意大利,在十八世纪的威尼斯得到发展,并称为一种真正的画派,尤其受到大旅行时代(即从17世纪在欧洲掀起的一股前往意大利探索文化的热潮)的旅行家们的欢迎。这些旅行家们渴望将一个真实的生机勃勃的威尼斯影像保留下来:环境、光线、色彩、辉煌的建筑,以及人们的生活、节日庆典、划船比赛等等。

 

最先相应市场需求的画家是卢卡·卡勒瓦利斯。但不久以后,安东尼奥·卡纳尔,也称卡纳莱托,便迅速成为威尼斯风景画领域最著名的代表人物。卡纳莱托从很年轻的时候就开始跟随父亲学习舞台布景,而后在风景画上的成功也让他在国外,特别是英国,获得了巨大成功。他的作品融合了启蒙运动的科学性和丰富的创造力,将风景中的元素真实地囊括进画面中,并根据透视比例进行构图,重新组合成为一幅幅动人的风景画。

 

总之,风景画中的威尼斯所展现出的真实效果正是卡纳莱托独特的环境透视法的关键所在,他对光线及其变化的出色掌控尤其值得称道。为了更多地满足市场需求,卡纳莱托拥有了众多追随者,其中包括他的侄子贝纳尔托·贝洛托。后者在定居波兰之前,曾为德国王宫创作风景画,并且大受欢迎。

 

威尼斯风景画的最后一页,属于弗朗切斯科·瓜尔迪。尽管与卡纳莱托的创作风格相去甚远,但有着诗人画家之称的他,用柔和轻快的笔触,描绘了一个或阳光普照,或笼罩在忧郁黄昏下的威尼斯。一个曾经辉煌的威尼斯,在风景画家们的笔下化身成为美好的景象,进入全世界的集体视野,并由此成为传奇。

The event participant must negotiate and provide compensation according to the relevant legal statutes and museum rules. The museum may sue for legal and financial liability.

Article VI

Event participants will participate in the event under the guidance of museum staff and event leaders or instructors and must correctly use the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities provided for the event. If a participant causes injury or harm to him/herself or others while using the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, or causes the damage or destruction of the tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, the event participant must undertake all related liability and provide compensation for the financial losses. Persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for personal accidents.

CAFA Art Museum Portraiture Rights Licensing Agreement

According to The Advertising Law of the People’s Republic of China, The General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and The Provisional Opinions of the Supreme People’s Court on Some Issues Related to the Full Implementation of the General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and upon friendly negotiation, Party A and Party B have arrived at the following agreement regarding the use of works bearing Party A’s image in order to clarify the rights and obligations of the portrait licenser (Party A) and the user (Party B):

I. General Provisions

(1) Party A is the portraiture rights holder in this agreement. Party A voluntarily licenses its portraiture rights to Party B for the purposes stipulated in this agreement and permitted by law.

(2) Party B (CAFA Art Museum) is a specialized, international modern art museum. CAFA Art Museum keeps pace with the times, and works to create an open, free, and academic space and atmosphere for positive interaction with groups, corporations, institutions, artists, and visitors. With CAFA’s academic research as a foundation, the museum plans multi-disciplinary exhibitions, conferences, and public education events with participants from around the world, providing a platform for exchange, learning, and exhibition for CAFA’s students and instructors, artists from around the world, and the general public. As a public institution, the primary purposes of CAFA Art Museum’s public education events are academic and beneficial to society.

(3) Party B will photograph all CAFA Public Education Department events for Party A.

II. Content, Forms of Use, and Geographical Scope of Use

(1) Content. The content of images taken by Party B bearing Party A’s likeness include: ① CAFA Art Museum ② CAFA campus ③ All events planned or executed by the CAFAM Public Education Department.

(2) Forms of Use. For use in CAFA’s publications, products with CDs, and promotional materials.

(3) Geographical Scope of Use

The applicable geographic scope is global.

The media in which the portraiture may be used encompasses any media that does not infringe upon Party A’s portraiture rights (e.g., magazines and the internet).

III. Term of Portraiture Rights Use

Use in perpetuity.

IV. Licensing Fees

The fees for images bearing Party A’s likeness will be undertaken by Party B.

After completion, Party B does not need to pay any fees to Party A for images bearing Party A’s likeness.

Additional Terms

(1) All matters not discussed in this agreement shall be resolved through friendly negotiation between both parties. Both parties may then sign a supplementary agreement, provided it does not violate any laws or regulations.

(2) This agreement comes into effect on the date that it is signed (sealed) and the relevant boxes are selected by Party A and Party B.

(3) This agreement exists in paper and electronic forms. The paper form is made in duplicate, with Party A and Party B each retaining one copy with the same legal efficacy.

Event participants implicitly accept and undertake all the obligations stated in this agreement. Those who do not consent will be seen as abandoning the right to participate in this event. Before participating in this event, please speak to your family members to obtain their consent and inform them of this disclaimer. After participants sign/check the required box, participants and their families will be seen as having read and agreed to these terms.

CAFA Art Museum Portraiture Rights Licensing Agreement

According to The Advertising Law of the People’s Republic of China, The General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and The Provisional Opinions of the Supreme People’s Court on Some Issues Related to the Full Implementation of the General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and upon friendly negotiation, Party A and Party B have arrived at the following agreement regarding the use of works bearing Party A’s image in order to clarify the rights and obligations of the portrait licenser (Party A) and the user (Party B):

I. General Provisions

(1) Party A is the portraiture rights holder in this agreement. Party A voluntarily licenses its portraiture rights to Party B for the purposes stipulated in this agreement and permitted by law.

(2) Party B (CAFA Art Museum) is a specialized, international modern art museum. CAFA Art Museum keeps pace with the times, and works to create an open, free, and academic space and atmosphere for positive interaction with groups, corporations, institutions, artists, and visitors. With CAFA’s academic research as a foundation, the museum plans multi-disciplinary exhibitions, conferences, and public education events with participants from around the world, providing a platform for exchange, learning, and exhibition for CAFA’s students and instructors, artists from around the world, and the general public. As a public institution, the primary purposes of CAFA Art Museum’s public education events are academic and beneficial to society.

(3) Party B will photograph all CAFA Public Education Department events for Party A.

II. Content, Forms of Use, and Geographical Scope of Use

(1) Content. The content of images taken by Party B bearing Party A’s likeness include: ① CAFA Art Museum ② CAFA campus ③ All events planned or executed by the CAFAM Public Education Department.

(2) Forms of Use. For use in CAFA’s publications, products with CDs, and promotional materials.

(3) Geographical Scope of Use

The applicable geographic scope is global.

The media in which the portraiture may be used encompasses any media that does not infringe upon Party A’s portraiture rights (e.g., magazines and the internet).

III. Term of Portraiture Rights Use

Use in perpetuity.

IV. Licensing Fees

The fees for images bearing Party A’s likeness will be undertaken by Party B.

After completion, Party B does not need to pay any fees to Party A for images bearing Party A’s likeness.

Additional Terms

(1) All matters not discussed in this agreement shall be resolved through friendly negotiation between both parties. Both parties may then sign a supplementary agreement, provided it does not violate any laws or regulations.

(2) This agreement comes into effect on the date that it is signed (sealed) and the relevant boxes are selected by Party A and Party B.

(3) This agreement exists in paper and electronic forms. The paper form is made in duplicate, with Party A and Party B each retaining one copy with the same legal efficacy.

Event participants implicitly accept and undertake all the obligations stated in this agreement. Those who do not consent will be seen as abandoning the right to participate in this event. Before participating in this event, please speak to your family members to obtain their consent and inform them of this disclaimer. After participants sign/check the required box, participants and their families will be seen as having read and agreed to these terms.

CAFA Art Museum Publication Authorization Agreement

I fully agree to CAFA Art Museum (CAFAM) submitting to CAFA for publication the images, pictures, texts, writings, and event products (such as works created during participation in workshops) related to me from my participation in public events (including museum member events) organized by the CAFA Art Museum Public Education Department. CAFA can publish these materials by electronic, web, or other digital means, and I hereby agree to be included in the China Knowledge Resource Bank, the CAFA Database, the CAFA Art Museum Database, and related data, documentation, and filing institutions and platforms. Regarding their use in CAFA and dissemination on the internet, I agree to make use of these rights according to the stated Rules.

CAFA Art Museum Event Safety Disclaimer

Article I

This event was organized on the principles of fairness, impartiality, and voluntary participation and withdrawal. Participants undertake all risk and liability for themselves. All events have risks, and participants must be aware of the risks related to their chosen event.

Article II

Event participants must abide by the laws and regulations of the People’s Republic of China, as well as moral and ethical norms. All participants must demonstrate good character, respect for others, friendship, and a willingness to help others.

Article III

Event participants should be adults (people 18 years or older with full civil legal capacity). Underage persons must be accompanied by an adult.

Article IV

Event participants undertake all liability for their personal safety during the event, and event participants are encouraged to purchase personal safety insurance. Should an accident occur during an event, persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for the accident, but both have the obligation to provide assistance. Event participants should actively organize and implement rescue efforts, but do not undertake any legal or economic liability for the accident itself. The museum does not undertake civil or joint liability for the personal safety of event participants.

Article V

During the event, event participants should respect the order of the museum event and ensure the safety of the museum site, the artworks in displays, exhibitions, and collections, and the derived products. If an event causes any degree of loss or damage to the museum site, space, artworks, or derived products due to an individual, persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for losses. The event participant must negotiate and provide compensation according to the relevant legal statutes and museum rules. The museum may sue for legal and financial liability.

Article VI

Event participants will participate in the event under the guidance of museum staff and event leaders or instructors and must correctly use the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities provided for the event. If a participant causes injury or harm to him/herself or others while using the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, or causes the damage or destruction of the tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, the event participant must undertake all related liability and provide compensation for the financial losses. Persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for personal accidents.
